     Diane Simpkins Diane Simpkins, age 79 years, went to be with her heavenly Father Wednesday evening, February 21, 2018 from her home in Ponca City, OK. She was the second child born to Delos Warren Simpkins and Gertrude Rose (Diette) Sinpkins on Wednesday, October 6, 1937 in Pawhuska, OK. She and her brother, Warren, grew up on her father’s Osage allotment ranch west of Pawhuska. Later, the family moved to Tulsa, OK where she attended kindergarten and elementary school until the family moved to Bartlesville, OK. In 1954, she attended College High. In 1955, she attended Daycroft, a Christian Science sponsored school in Stamford, CT. While there, she organized their school library with the Dewey Decimal System. Her senior year was spent in Tulsa, until October, when she moved to live with her grandmother, Sadie Simpkins Hanson, and graduated from Shidler High School in 1956. She attended Central State College in Edmond, OK in 1957. In Ponca City, Diane worked for Dr. Ray Lessert, DVM, Higdon’s Florist and Irene’s Custom Drapes. Next, she opened her own pet supply store, later adding her own grooming shop which she named Skip’s Clip Joint. Diane loved all wildlife and rescued a variety of animals. She was especially proud of her Osage and Cherokee Native American heritage. She ran for the Osage Council in 1974. She was a member of the Catholic Church. She was proved to be an American, believed in our Flag, was a member of NRA, proud of Ponca City and Oklahoma. She served her community working with the youth, the Girl Scouts, the Ponca City Art Association, the Fine Arts Festival, the Humane Society and the Standing Bear Foundation. She was always available to help her family and friends. She never met a stranger. She was unique. Diane loved to share with others, examples include: A car full of books to the Kaw City Library, gave a Steinway baby grand piano to the Lynn Baptist Church in Pawhuska, donated many items to the Hope Ranch, the Pioneer Woman Museum, the Frank Phillips Home in Bartlesville, the Ponca City Senior Center, the Constantine Theater in Pawhuska, the Saline Courthouse, the Tulsa Historical Society, and the University Learning Center in Ponca City. Diane is survived by her brother, Joel Warren (Simpkins) Martin and his wife, Darlene, of Grove, OK, niece Cydney (Martin) Kirby Walvoord of Newark, Texas, nephew Kirkland James Martin, adopted nephew John Beebe of Oklahoma City, OK, niece Jennifer (Kirby) Goranson, husband Mike, children Alex and Kara of Newcastle, OK. Nephew Shawn Delos Kirby, daughter Ramee of Newark, TX, niece Diane Louise Kirby, daughters Christina and Nevaeh of Cisco, TX; niece Justin Marie (Kirby) Lara, husband Toni, children Cydney, Robert and Liliana of Boyd, TX; her friend and companion Emma Lou Stover of Ponca City, OK and her Chihuahua, “Coco.” She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents Warren Delos Simpkins and Sadie Sidney (DeNoya) Simpkins, Thomas Sylvester Dietle, Freda Helen (Reim) Dietle and her nephew Joel Philip Martin. Cole died on February 25, 2020 at Attica, Fountain Co., Indiana, at age 86.⁵ She Covington, Ind. - Frieda E. Gray, 86, of Covington passed away at 8:37 a.m. EST Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at Autumn Trace Assisted Living in Attica, Indiana. She was born October 14, 1933 in Danville, Illinois the daughter of the late Edgar Allen and Bertha Irene (Smith) Cole. Frieda first married Glenn L. Biesecker. She later married Ward H. Gray in July 1971. He preceded her in death in January of 2001. Survivors include her children: Sharon (Robert) Brewer of Covington, Indiana; Melanie Biesecker of Phoenix, Arizona; Timothy (Tina) Biesecker of Covington, Indiana and Mark Biesecker of Paradise, Michigan; seven grandchildren: Laura; Melisa; Kristen; Bryan; Jennifer; Jason and Stacy; six great-grandchildren; sister-in-law: Sara Cole of Bloomington, Indiana; brother-in-law: Clarence Turner of Lafayette, Indiana, along with several nieces and nephews. Frieda was preceded in death by her sister: Reva Turner and brother: Eugene Cole. Frieda was a 1951 graduate of Perrysville High School. She formerly worked at J.C. Penney's and retired from United Samaritans Medical Center (Medical Record Department), both in Danville, Illinois. She was a member of the Benson Chapel United Methodist Church, Covington Library Book Lovers Club, Ladies Bible Study and the Covington Euchre Club. Frieda enjoyed reading, working on crafts, scrapbooking and playing cards. She was a former 4-H Leader and enjoyed watching Indiana University Basketball. Frieda formerly lived in Michigan with her late husband, Ward Gray from 1971, returning to the Covington, Indiana area in 1985. Burial: Lower Mound Cemetery north of Perrysville, Indiana; on February 26, 2020.⁵

     Clarence Kyle Turner Clarence K. Turner, 92, of Covington, Indiana, passed from this life to be with the Lord on June 12, 2020 at the Creasy Springs Legacy Campus in Lafayette, Indiana, where he had resided since September 2019. Clarence was born in rural Perrysville, Indiana on June 29, 1927 to Hubert C. Turner and Laura J. (Snyder) Turner. Clarence’s first marriage was to Barbara J. (Sparks) Turner, where their marriage lasted 50 ½ years before her passing. In April of 2001, Clarence married Reva L. (Cole) Weller- Turner. Their marriage lasted until her passing in June of 2017. Clarence has two surviving sons, Michael F. (Karen) Turner of Cayuga, Indiana and Jeffrey K. (Lisa) Turner of Williamsport, Indiana; five grandchildren, Major Katharyn E. Turner, USAF of O’ Fallon, Illinois, Kimberly L. (Rev. Timothy) Bleigh of Cayuga, Indiana, Matthew K. (Kara) of Columbia City, Indiana, Michael D. Turner of Greenwood, Indiana and Jacob D. (Maysa) Turner of Perrysville, Indiana; four great grandchildren, David Turner, Josiah Turner, Abbigail Lewis, and Gwendolynn Lewis; three step-children, Steve (Kathy) Weller of Bloomington, Indiana, Kathy (DR. Fred) of Monticello, Indiana and Mary Ellen (Donna) Weller of Carol Stream, Illinois; six step grandchildren and three step great grandchildren. Clarence has five surviving sisters and one brother, Alrene Snyder of Covington, Indiana, Annabeth Stark of Danville, Illinois, Max Turner of Lockport, Illinois, Sonna (Ronnie) Crowder of Covington, Indiana, Naomi (Roy) Hershberger of Covington, Indiana and Mary Lou (John) Morris of Covington, Indiana; one surviving sister-in-law, Norma Turner of Covington, Indiana and many nieces nephews. Preceding him in death were his parents, Hubert C. and Laura J. Turner; his first wife, Barbara J. Turner; second wife, Reva L. Weller-Turner; brother, Lewis H. Turner; baby sister, Mossie Kate Turner; brother in law, Russell Stark; sister in law, Joyce Turner and step child, Ronald Weller. Clarence attended Perrysville Elementary and High School grades 1 through 12 and graduated in 1945. From September 1945 to October of 1946, he served his country as a PFC, Forward Observer, H Battery, 11th Marines 3rd Battalion, 1st Division, and was stationed in Tientsin, Northern China. Clarence was brought up on a farm and was involved in farming most of his life. Alongside his parents and in laws he raised grain crops and livestock, then on his own, with the help of his two sons. He always held other jobs while he farmed. In his early days he worked with Dewey Prather Massey Harris Implements and Rileysburg Grain Elevator. After that, he worked 26+ years at Olins in Covington, IN at Chemical and Maintenance Depts., Fire Brigade, Maintenance Supervisor (Clarence was a trained millwright), and a short stint with Danville Junior College Building and Grounds. He later worked with Flexel in Covington, IN as a Fire, Safety, and Security Supervisor. Clarence enjoyed reading, traveling, playing golf, attending his grandchildren’s school activities, and looking at their 4-H projects. He loved being with family, and loved watching golf, the Chicago Bears, Indianapolis Colts, and Big 10 basketball: especially IU. Clarence attended Waterman Baptist Church and enjoyed singing and listening to several different kinds of music. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Park in Danville.² He was buried at Sunset Memorial Park, 3901 North Vermilion Street, Danville, Vermilion Co., Illinois.² He was born on June 29, 1927 at Perrysville, Vermilion Co., Indiana.² He married Reva Loretta Cole, daughter of Edgar Allen Cole and Bertha Irene Smith, on April 14, 2001 at Covington, Fountain Co., Indiana.^1,3,2 Clarence Kyle Turner died on June 12, 2020 at Lafayette, Tippecanoe Co., Indiana, at age 92.²

     Steven A. "Steve" Weller married Kathleen "Kathy" Knight.³ Steven A. "Steve" Weller was born on March 25, 1953 at Danville, Vermilion Co., Illinois.³ He died on April 27, 2022 at Indiana at age 69.³ He Steven A. Weller - As the Cubs were beating the Braves 6-3 Wednesday night Steve left to see the game with his mom and dad, Reva and Harold, brother Ron and baby niece Elizabeth Henney. He left behind to run the store his wife Kathleen (Knight), Amelia (27), Nathan (24) and his beloved cat Lewis Black. His sister Kathy, husband Fred Henney and their kids Margaret (Derek) and Matt (Ashlee and kids Grace & John Henry) are sure going to miss him. Ron's wife Kristine and daughters Jessica (kids Lila and Kirstin) and Abigail will remember Steve for always keeping them laughing. Steve's sister Mary Ellen (Donna) who shared his love for the Cubs, the Bears and IU basketball, will keep her buddy close in heart. Steve was born March 25, 1953 in Danville, IL but grew up across the state line near Perrysville, IN. As a child Steve tromped the fields, woodlands and streams of the Wabash River Valley in west central Indiana hunting arrowheads and morels, fishing for bass and bluegill, and learning to identify the flora and fauna he observed. Steve traded in his tromping shoes for running shoes, becoming a high school track and cross country star for North Vermillion H.S. In his senior year Steve won his school’s Sectional meet, came in fourth in Regionals and missed going to State by one place. Steve completed his Bachelor of Science degree at Huntington College (now University) and worked as an outdoor education naturalist at Forest Glen County Preserve near Westville, Illinois. By then he could identify anything that “grew, swam, walked or squawked” in the native landscape. Steve earned his Masters Degree in Science and Education at IUPU Fort Wayne (where he met Kathy) and was hired as a naturalist at Deep River Park in Lake County, Indiana. He earned another Masters Degree (Landscape Architecture) at Kansas State, taking a job as planner at McHenry County Conservation District in the fastest growing county in Illinois northwest of Chicago. He assumed the role of Executive Director of the agency, conserving over 6,000 acres of high-quality native areas and developing 60 miles of rail trails, which connected to biking/hiking trails in the Chicago region. After leaving the MCCD Steve began a business restoring wetlands in the Chicago area, creating wetland areas off-site to make up for those destroyed on-site by development projects. In 2004 he moved his family to Bloomington to return to his home state and be close to family and his beloved IU Hoosiers. He loved his adopted town and enjoyed its restaurants, its culture and its music. One of his favorite activities was taking driving trips through southern Indiana, exploring small towns, state parks and historic sites. Because Steve is at peace we are at peace, flooded with all the great memories made with him. We’ll celebrate his life with a picnic for family and friends at Forest Glen County Preserve when the prairie he helped plant by hand is in its blooming glory. Steve will be there in spirit, as long as we plan around the Cubs’ schedule. on April 30, 2022.³

     Ronald Dean Weller was buried at Greenlawn Cemetery, 496 W. County Road 200 S, Frankfort, Clinton Co., Indiana.^3,4 He was born on May 14, 1954 at Danville, Vermilion Co., Illinois.^3,4 He married Brenda Kristine Brant on July 31, 1976 at Frankfort, Clinton Co., Indiana.^2,3 Ronald Dean Weller died on May 18, 2013 at Indianapolis, Marion Co., Indiana, at age 59.^3,4 He Ronald D. Weller, 59, of Marshall, formerly of rural Frankfort, Ind., passed away at 5:20 a.m. May 18, 2013, at Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born May 14, 1954, in Danville, Ill., to Harold Weller and Reva L. (Cole) Weller Turner. Mr. Weller married Brenda Kristine Brant on July 31, 1976, at the First Baptist Church in Frankfort, Ind., and she survives. Mr. Weller was the branch manager of Woodforest National Bank in Terre Haute, Ind., for the past year. He had previously worked at First National Bank of Ottawa. He was a 1972 graduate of North Vermillion High School. He went on to graduate from Manchester College with a bachelor's degree in business administration. He was a past member of the Kiwanis Club of Ottawa. He was on the board of directors for Human Resource Center in Paris. Mr. Weller enjoyed reading, cooking and especially making pies. He was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bears fan. He is survived by his wife, Kristine Brant Weller of Marshall; two daughters, Jessica (Jubin) Weller Rahatzad of West Lafayette, Ind., and Abigail D. Weller of Marshall; mother, Reva L. (Cole) Weller Turner of Covington, Ind; one brother, Steve (Kathy) Weller of Bloomington, Ind; two sisters, Kathy (Fred) Henney of Monticello, Ind., and Mary Ellen Weller of Carol Stream; and in-laws, Donald E. and Phyllis M. (Davis) Brant of rural Frankfort, Ind. He was preceded in death by his father. Visitation will be 10 a.m.-noon Tuesday, May 21, at Goodwin Funeral Home in Frankfort with services at noon following the visitation. Burial will be in Green Lawn Cemetery. on May 21, 2013.³
