Walker, on June 13, 1953 at Warren, Warren Co., Pennsylvania.1,4 Herbert August Schueltz died on October 16, 2016 at Bradford, McKean Co., Pennsylvania, at age 88.4 He Herbert A. Schueltz, 88, of 15 Applewood Lane, Bradford, passed away Sunday (Oct. 16, 2016) at the Bradford Manor. Born Aug. 17, 1928, in Warren, he was a son of the late August R. and Martha Launer Schueltz. On June 13, 1953, at the Grace Methodist Church in Warren, he married Lois Jean Hulings Schueltz, who survives. Mr. Schueltz was a 1946 graduate of Warren High School, a 1955 graduate of Penn State University and he received his Masters in petroleum engineering from Penn State University in 1959. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1951, was stationed at the Army Chemical Corps School, Fort McClellan, Anniston, Ala. He monitored the atomic bomb testing site at Camp Desert Rock Nevada for 20 days in the desert camp. He was honorably discharged in 1953. Herb was a member of Emanuel Lutheran Evangelical Church and formerly served in the choir, was a Sunday School teacher, usher, treasurer, financial secretary and council member. He was a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers, Fireside Pumpers and Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. Mr. Schueltz had been employed at Minard Run Oil Company as a petroleum engineer, the Federal Power Commission now known as the Department of Energy in Washington, D.C., and later at Kendall Refining Co., where he retired from Witco Chemical Corp. in 1986. Surviving are his wife Lois of 63 years, two daughters, Linda C. (Don O'Neil) Kemick of Bradford, and Anne Schueltz of Fullerton, Calif; one brother, Pastor John H. (Molly) Schueltz of State College; several nieces and nephews, including Martha Rice, Mary Antonik, Becky Starner, Sarah Gwinn, Susan Dresher, and Scott Schueltz. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Mary Jane Stofcheck and her husband, Pastor Stephen Stofcheck. Committal services and burial will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Warren County Memorial Park, Starbrick. on October 18, 2016.4

Schueltz, 63, of Fullerton, Calif., formerly of Bradford, passed away Sunday (Feb. 28, 2021) at St. Jude Medical Center in Orange County, Calif. Born July 22, 1957, in Bradford, she was a daughter of Lois J. Hulings Schueltz, of Bradford, and the late Herbert A. Schueltz. Anne was a 1975 graduate of Bradford High School and was the class valedictorian. She maintained a straight A average through 12 years of public schooling. Anne was proficient in French, German and Japanese. She graduated in 1979 from McGill University in Montreal, Quebec, and was delighted to discover that Kamala Harris' mother taught there while Anne was a student. As an adult Anne lived in Kent, Wash., Los Angeles, and Osaka, Japan. She taught English in Japan and was very politely asked to explain the difference between "whoops, oops, and uh-oh" by an inquiring neighbor. Anne received her MBA in Fullerton, Calif., and worked for many years at YKK Zipper Company in Orange County. She was a strong, independent, successful woman who lived alone by choice but had many wonderful friends and neighbors including Jose and Alicia Reynoso, David Reynoso and Monica Santos, who helped care for her as she battled cancer. Surviving in addition to her mother Lois, is one sister, Linda (Don O'Neil) Kemick of Bradford; one, aunt Molly Schueltz; and several nieces and nephews, including Martha Rice, Mary Antonik, Becky Starner, Sarah Gwinn, Susan Dresher, and Scott Schueltz. She was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Schueltz. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Warren County Memorial Park in Starbrick. on March 9, 2021.2

He was born on November 23, 1950 in Banner Elk, North Carolina, a son of the late Jackson Albert Carpenter and the late Wanda Woods Carpenter. He was preceded in death by his parents. Jerry was a school bus mechanic for the Avery Co. Bus Garage for many years. He enjoyed fixing cars and watching races but his favorite thing to do was drag racing. He was a great Husband, Father and Grandfather. He loved spending time with his family and loved them all. Jerry leaves behind to cherish his memory his: Wife of 47 years, Amy Clark Carpenter of Newland, NC; Daughter, Heather (Toby) Ragan of Pineola, NC, Daughter, Hilary (Jason Shaw) Carpenter of Cary, NC, Grandchildren: Trevor Benfield, Roma Benfield, Erin Benfield, Harper Shaw, Rowan Shaw, Sister, Janice Vance, Sister, Joyce (David) Gortney, and his nieces and nephews.
