Clara O'Dene Swisher was buried at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum, 6500 South Perkins Road, Stillwater, Payne Co., Oklahoma.3,9 She On Friday morning, December 21, 2018, Clara O'Dene Langley, under the loving care of hospice and family, passed from this world and began her eternal rest at the age of 87. Clara's long, full, and productive life began on October 24, 1931 when she was born to Orville and Ida Swisher on the family farm in Noble County where she was the eighth of sixteen children. She loved the farm animals, especially horses. Growing up during the Great Depression Era was not always easy, but work on the farm taught her many life lessons that she passed on to her children. Clara's work career included a time of working for Graves Drug Store, and as bookkeeper for the family business, Auto Safety Center. Her real work, however, was raising her four wonderful children. On March 14, 1949 Clara married Walter "James" Langley and thus began a wonderful journey of love and family that would begin in Stillwater, but it would be Ponca City that would become their lifelong home for some fifty-four years. Their marriage produced four children: Linda, Nancy, Martha and Mark. Family was very important to Clara. As the children grew up, they remained close as all remained in Ponca City. This meant monthly gatherings at Mom and Dad's house and plenty of time at "Our Place " celebrating family. Clara loved to quilt and many quilts were made for family and friends at Clara's Quilt House. She also loved to go on trips with her family. Clara was indeed a special person who was loved and will be greatly missed. Above all else, Clara will be remembered as a wonderful wife, a caring mother, and a loving grandmother and great-grandmother. She is survived by James, her husband of 69 years; her five children: Linda, and husband Mike Culver; Nancy, and husband Gary Watters; Martha, and husband Matt Cremers; Mark, and wife Sandra Langley; and Suzy, and husband Jim Pascal. To show the strength of family ties, all the family lives in Ponca City. She is also survived by sixteen grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren. Clara also is survived by two sisters, Sallie Brown and Barbara White, both of Stillwater and two brothers, Ron Swisher of Collinsville and Ike Swisher of Stillwater, numerous nephews and nieces, other family members and friends. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, December 28, at the Strode Funeral Home Chapel, located at 610 S. Duncan Street in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. The family would like to thank Via Christie Village and Hospice for the wonderful care and love shown to Clara during the final days of her struggle.3 She was born on October 24, 1931 at Noble Co., Oklahoma.3 As of March 14, 1949,her married name was Langley.3 She married Walter James Langley on March 14, 1949 at Payne Co., Oklahoma.6,3,4,5 Clara O'Dene Swisher died on December 21, 2018 at Oklahoma at age 87.3

Walter James Langley Walter James Langley passed from this world on Thursday, August 29, 2019 and began his eternal rest at the age of 89. A memorial service will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, September 3, 2019. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Strode Funeral Home and Cremation. James’s long full and productive life began on May 21, 1930 in Glencoe, Oklahoma where he was the oldest of four children born to Earnest and Viola Langley. As a young boy he learned the value of work and family, as he always cared for his sisters and was always busy. An early work ethic that he learned during the depression years served him well through life. On March 14, 1949 James married Clara O’Dene Swisher and thus began a wonderful journey of love and family that would begin in Stillwater, but it would be Ponca City that would become their lifelong home for some fifty-four years. James’ working career included working for Meadow Gold and Mid-West Dairies in Stillwater, Okmulgee, Tulsa and finally Ponca City. It was in Ponca City that James took the initiative to become an entrepreneur. He owned and operated Long’s Conoco on north first street for several years. However, most everyone knew James for his business on south Pine, Auto Safety Center, which he owned and operated with his son, Mark. Everyone knew two things about James and his business, no one would work harder and no one was fairer and more honest. Even after retiring from Auto Safety Center, James kept busy with his rental property. Everyone who knew James understood that staying busy was in his DNA. James will be remembered as a wonderful husband, a caring father, a loving grandfather and great grandfather. Their marriage produced four children, Linda, Nancy, Martha and Mark. Family was always very important to James. Family gatherings were always one of the highlights of his life. His favorite time was spent on his small and rural getaway “Our Place” This is where he found peace, raising gardens, mowing on his tractor and preparing for those family gatherings, and the more family that showed up the better. Two catch phrases that James always said that shows his genuine love for family and friends, “what’s your hurry” as you were getting ready to leave and “see you more later” as if to say, come back soon. James was always, a man of integrity and humility, two qualities that he possessed in abundance. James is proceeded in death by his parents, his loving wife of 69 years and one sister, Thelma Madison. He is survived by his five children, Linda and (Mike) Culver, Nancy (Gary) Watters, Martha (Matt) Cremers, Mark (Sandra) Langley, Suzy (Jim) Pascal. James is also survived by 16 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Elvina Cox of Jones, Oklahoma and Velta Benson of Catoosa, Oklahoma as well as numerous nephews and nieces.3 He was buried at Sunset Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum, 6500 South Perkins Road, Stillwater, Payne Co., Oklahoma.5,3 He was born on May 21, 1930 at Glencoe, Payne Co., Oklahoma.3 He married Clara O'Dene Swisher, daughter of Orville Jasper Swisher and Ida Ellis Madison, on March 14, 1949 at Payne Co., Oklahoma.1,2,3,4 Walter James Langley died on August 29, 2019 at Oklahoma at age 89.3
