She was named in the 1942 Who's Who in American Colleges, and she was a member of Phi Upsilon Omicron, a National Honor Home Economics Sorority. From the late 1940's to the late 1980's, Ruth was a charter agent of Texas Farm Bureau in Fort Bend County. She was a member of Central Christian Church, Rosenberg, TX. Ruth was very active with 4H Clubs of Rosenberg and Fort Bend County, and for many years she manned the cash office for the Fort Bend County Fair Association. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marcus Eaton and Lois McGrew Eaton; husband, Noel Byers Yarling; brother, Ralph Eaton; and sister, Laura Anderson. Survivors include her daughter, Joyce Yarling; 7 nieces and nephews: John M. Yarling, Jr., Phoebe Winter, Jaydee Anderson, Kathryn Phelan, Laurence Anderson, Barbara Watkins, and Linda Eaton; and other relatives. on September 3, 2016.2

She was currently a member of the local unit of the Texas Business Women. She held membership in the Toastmistress USA for over 20 years. She was a member for many years of the Golden Heirs Choir which was sponsored by Calvary Baptist Church, Rosenberg. She was a member of the Fort Bend County Farm Bureau, the Central Fort Bend Chamber Alliance, and in earlier years, the Fort Bend County Taxpayers Association. Mary E. served for 2 years on the Rosenberg City Council and was involved in the Republican Party, serving as an election judge in her precinct. She was presented with the James C. Adolphus Award by the Fort Bend Republican Party, saluting her as an activist for a lifetime of party service. She was a lifelong member of the Christian Church, specifically the Central Christian Church of Rosenberg. Mary Elizabeth is survived by her niece, Joyce Ann Yarling of Asheville, North Carolina; sister-in-law, Ruth Yarling of Asheville, North Carolina; nephew, John M. (Butch) Yarling, Jr. of Schulenburg, TX; cousin, Barbara (Hall) Trick of Indianapolis, Indiana; and cousin, Charles Kent Wisler of Elwood, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother, Noel B. Yarling of Rosenberg, TX; brother, John M. Yarling, Sr. of Schulenburg, TX; and sister-in-law, Evelyn Kielman Yarling of Schulenberg, TX. Burial in Davis-Greenlawn Cemetery, Rosenberg, TX. on January 9, 2014.3

Mr. Hampton was a retired linotype operator. Surviving are daughter, Jean Swisher, Logansport; son, Edward “Bud” Hampton and his wife, Nikki, Fall City, Ore; six grandchildren, Patti Steinberger and Michael Swisher, both of Logansport, Mark Swisher, Rockford, Ill., and Jay Hampton, Jeff Hampton and Josh Hampton, all of California; 12 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. One grandson and three brothers preceded in death. The Rev. Scott Ellison will officiate. Survivors include her husband, Dick Albu of Waite Park, MN; sons, Christopher James (Linda) Umbarger of Duluth, MN; Stephan David Umbarger of St. Cloud, MN; stepson Christopher Richard Simpson of Pensacola, FL; stepdaughter, Kelly Marie Simpson; brothers, Dale Bonneville of St. Joseph, MN; and James Bonneville of Duluth, MN; ?ve grandchildren, Bryanne Nicole Umbarger, Michael James Umbarger, Samuel Stephan Umbarger, James Serkland and Sara Serkland; and one great granddaughter, Eliannah Grace. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Sandy Line, and brother John Bonneville. on January 14, 2016.3

As a military wife, she traveled the world. She settled in Hollister in 1978 and was active in the Women's Club of Hollister, holding many offices as well as president and was honored as Woman of the Century in the year 2000. She was also an active member of the Republican Women and a member of the Hollister First Presbyterian Church and Bolado Park Women's Nine Hole Club. She was an active golfer, even after she was 90 years old. Her indomitable spirit is a lasting legacy for her family. She was the mother of Alta Clark of Hollister, and Sue Clark of Picton, Ontario, Canada. She is also survived by her sisters and brother, Leota Marie Good of Detroit, MI, Martha Amanda Gline of MI, and Donald Gene Mitchell of IN; her grandchildren and their spouses, Thomas Clark Mohamed (Teresa Marie), Terrie Sue Walsh (Thomas), Kellie Lynn Curtis, Stacie Alice Curtis, Roberta Lee Curtis, Sharon Mae Weinstein (Steven Price), Laura Ellen Weinstein, Mobee Eileen Weinstein (Ahmet Sumer) and Gary Dale Silacci (Lisa); sixteen great-grandchildren; two great-great- grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Anita Martin, of Hanford, and is survived by her son-in-law, John Martin of Hanford. She worked for Kings County until her retirement. She relocated to Dayton early this year to be with her son and his family. She enjoyed sewing, flower gardening, reading and traveling. "Anita was selfless, caring more for family and friends than for herself," the family said. In addition to her husband, John N. Martin, she is survived by a son, Gary D. Silacci of Dayton; a stepson, John Martin of Hanford, Calif; stepdaughter, Buffi Martin of Hanford, Calif; her mother, Donna Mae Clark of Hollister, Calif; two sisters, Alta M. Clark of Hollister, Calif., and Sue Clark of Picton, Ontario, Canada; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. on December 7, 2006.6
