Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Feb. 3, at 10 a.m., at the Fort Laramie Presbyterian Church, with Reverend Jane Busey officiating. Burial will follow in the Fort Laramie Cemetery. Georgia was born April 8, 1920, in Staplehurst, Neb., the daughter of H. Dale and Mildred (Bell) Slife. She grew up in Nebraska. She moved to Lincoln, Neb., to work before marrying Raymond Bennett Jan. 23, 1943, in St. Louis, Mo. In 1945, they settled in Scottsbluff and later came to Wyoming where they worked on ranches in Goshen County. In 1955, they started working road construction. In 1962, they bought land in Fort Laramie and started Bennett Trailer Court where she worked until her death. Georgia is survived by a sister, Nadene Hoyt of Elmwood, Neb; and a brother, H. Dale Slife Jr. of Oswego, N.Y. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband. on January 29, 2009.2

     Edward Wayne Williams January 15, 2021, Edward “WAYNE” Williams was taken to Mission Texas Hospital and went to be with our Lord. Ed was born in Hebron, Nebraska on January 11, 1935 to Cecil and Ruby Williams. He was reared 3 miles southwest of Davenport until the family moved to a farm north of Davenport in the early ‘50’s. He graduated from Ong High School and attended Milford Trade School until he enlisted in the Air Force at 19 years of age and was placed as an Instrument Technician flying on C-119 boxcar aircraft. He advanced to Staff Sergeant and continued 6 years in the National Guard Military Reserve. Ed married his wife Cleo in 1965 and together raised three daughters, all born in Lincoln, Nebraska. Ed began his civilian career working for O’Shea Rogers Ford Auto and then spent 2 years working for the Nebraska State Penitentiary; he also worked 10 years as an Auditor for the State of Nebraska and for a time was an instructor at the then Lincoln School of Commerce. Ed and Cleo moved their family to Albuquerque, New Mexico in 1971 where Ed was employed with Sears as a Service Technician for 28 years. When Ed retired, he and Cleo enjoyed RV’ing, for two years. Holding nothing back he bought a Freightliner to pull the homey 5th wheeler. Their travels ended in Mission, Texas where they enjoyed retirement for 21 years. Ed played the guitar, sang and entertained at Green Gate Grove Jams. He was a member of NRA, an avid target shooter and he loved hunting, especially Nebraska pheasants. Ed paid close attention to the weather and was addicted to watching Gomer Pyle reruns. He loved sports of all kinds. Ed enjoyed singing in a Quartet at Church, and also worked with the youth teaching Children’s Church and Royal Rangers (a Church function Boy Scout type of organization). Survivors include his wife – Cleo; daughter - Terri (Mike) Mobley of Denver, Colorado; daughter - Allyson (David) Laing of Albuquerque, New Mexico; daughter - Jacqueline (Robert) of Durango, Colorado; grandson - Aaron Williams of Albuquerque, New Mexico; great granddaughter - Alanna Williams of Albuquerque, New Mexico; brother - Larry Williams of Lincoln, Nebraska’ sister - Sharon Andersen of Albuquerque, New Mexico; and several nieces and nephews.3 He was born on January 11, 1935 at Hebron, Thayer Co., Nebraska.3 He married Cleo Unknown in 1965.2,4,3 Edward Wayne Williams died on January 18, 2021 at Mission, Hidalgo Co., Texas, at age 86.3

     Her married name was Willson.2 Shirley L. Krentz married Robert "Willie" Willson.2 Shirley L. Krentz was born on September 7, 1949 at Scottsbluff, Scotts Bluff Co., Nebraska.1 As of June 22, 1979,her married name was Vance.1 She married Don Vance on June 22, 1979.1 Shirley L. Krentz died on February 13, 2021 at Grand Island, Hall Co., Nebraska, at age 71.1 She Shirley L. Vance, 71, of Grand Island passed away on Saturday, Feb. 13, 2021. There will be a private memorial service to honor Shirley's life. Shirley was born Sept. 7, 1949, in Scottsbluff, the daughter of Walter and Burtis (Bennett) Krentz. She grew up and attended school in Scottsbluff. On June 22, 1979, Shirley married Don Vance, combining their families. They made their home in Grand Island, completing their family with four more children for a total of eight. Shirley was employed as a manager with Godfather's Pizza for a number of years and partnered with her husband in owning and managing the Village Inn. Her last employment was as a bookkeeper with Nash Finch Company in North Platte. Above all, Shirley's family was the most important to her, being a part of her children's and grandchildren's lives. Those who will cherish her memory include her husband, Don; eight children, Tammy Scarborough of Grand Island, Rob Willson of Kimball, Tonya Pedersen of Elm Creek, Curt (Tabby) Vance of Olathe, Kan., Shane (Rajean) Vance of Kearney, DJ (Bethany) Vance of Grand Island, Tim (Lisa) Vance of Bend, Ore., and Mindy (Matt) Heusinkvelt of Crete; 19 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren, with one on the way. Other survivors include two sisters, Kathy (Bob) Tarr of Woodburn, Ore., and Rae Ellen (Clarence) Brooks of Grand Island; several nieces and nephew; and her two four-legged fur babies, Wilson and Oreo. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Sharon Pile. on February 16, 2021.1
