Va. - Agnes D. "Aggie" Akers, 98, of 118 Morrison Drive, Princeton, died Thursday, July 24, 2003, at Nelson's Private Board and Care in Princeton. Born September 5, 1903 in Marion, Va., she was the daughter of the late Guy and Rose (Taylor) Eastridge. She was a retired nurse serving patients at Princeton Memorial Hospital and Princeton Community Hospital for 45 years. She was very dedicated to her profession and was well-known for the wonderful care she provided to all she served. She was a charter member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Princeton. In addition to her parents, her husband, Oscar A. Akers, one son, Coy Roarke, one brother, George Eastridge, and three sisters, Bell Taylor, Ella May Bowling and Louise Bunsteine, preceded her in death. Surviving include two sisters, Martha Runyon and her husband, Woodrow, of Princeton, and Gladys Fleenor, of Seattle, Wash., several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a. m. Monday at the George W. Seaver Chapel of Seaver Funeral Home in Princeton with the Rev. Don Jividen officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Park Cemetery in Princeton. Men of the church will serve as pallbearers. on July 26, 2003.²
