     Marjorie Jane "Margie" Pittman was buried at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, 5233 Rocky Fork Road, Cross Lanes, Kanawha Co., West Virginia.3,2 She Margie Jane (Gilpen) Pittman-Jernigan, October 21, 1941 – January 3, 2017 - To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord 2 Cor 5:8. Born October 21, 1941 to Jesse Warden and Ruth Jane Pittman in Charleston, West Virginia. Margie attended DuPont High School. She gave her life to the Lord in 1973. That is when her music career took a big turn. She wrote her own songs and music becoming an accomplished musician releasing 7 albums. She had an award winning radio show in the Tri-State on WXIT called Afternoon's With Margie. New Years of 1979 her song "In The Lamb's Book" was the #1 Gospel song in the Tri-State. She served as a legal advocate for the Sister Help battered women's shelter in Rock Hill, South Carolina. Also, she was a very talented writer, publishing 5 books. Margie loved to help others and to spread the gospel. Preceded in death are her mother and father, brothers Daniel and Carson Pittman, sister, Judy Quentrill, and granddaughter, Sara Cooke. Left to cherish her memory; loving and devoted husband, Roy "Bert" Jernigan, brothers; Larry Pittman of Charleston, Roy (Wanda) Pittman of Charleston, Raymond (Judy) Pittman of Charleston, and David (Peggy) Pittman of Charleston; children; Sandy Debolt of St. Albans, Lorie (Brian) Baldwin of Charleston, Barbara (Jim) Reed of St. Albans, James "JR" (Lisa) Gilpen of Cross Lanes, and Michelle (Brian) Self of Cordova, South Carolina; 13 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren; family and friends. A Celebration of Margie’s life will be held Noon Friday January 6, 2017, at Stevens & Grass Funeral Home, Malden, with the Rev. Edward Jarrett officiating. The entombment will follow the service at Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes.2 She was born on October 21, 1941 at Charleston, Kanawha Co., West Virginia.1,2 As of February 22, 1958,her married name was Elmore.1 She married Loren Boone Elmore, son of James Henry Elmore and Sophronia Mae "Fronia" Strickland, on February 22, 1958 at Blount, Kanawha Co., West Virginia.1 Marjorie Jane "Margie" Pittman and Loren Boone Elmore were divorced on June 18, 1971 at Cuyahoga Co., Ohio.4 Marjorie Jane "Margie" Pittman died on January 3, 2017 at West Virginia at age 75.2
