He was born May 2, 1933, a son of the late Hobert and Alma Maynor. Max Maynor proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. He had retired from Acme Markets and Virginia Power. He also worked as a salesperson at Dudley Martin Chevrolet in Manassas. Max was very hardworking and rarely missed a day of work. Max never met a stranger and was a devoted and loving family man, Even at the end, he maintained his renowned sense of humor. Max followed West Virginia sports religiously and was always deeply interested in politics. He was a very generous man and always willing to help in any way he could. He was known for his quick wit and was always the life of the party. He always brought humor and laughter with him in any situation and had an uncanny dancing ability. He loved and was proud of his family and was happiest when surrounded by them. He was an amazing husband, father, grandfather and great-granddad. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Sally A. Maynor; his three children, Kathy Zacharski and husband Bob, Sally Howell and husband Calvin and Murray Max Maynor Jr. and wife Kelly; four siblings, Dean Maynor and wife Peggy, Dosey Eddy, Mary Cuba Flory and husband Elmer and Sandra Riner; six grandchildren, Nikki Galvan and husband Brendan, Nic Gittings, Nathan Howell, Nolan Howell, Amber Maynor and Lexi Maynor; two great-grandchildren, Isabella Galvan and Max Galvan; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Maynor, and nephew Roger Maynor. A service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 3, at Covenant Funeral Service, Fredericksburg. Burial will be at 9 a.m. Monday, Nov. 4, at Quantico National Cemetery. on November 1, 2013.6

     Edward Blaine Eddy E. Blaine Eddy, 82, of Huntington, W.Va., died Sunday, October 17, 2010, at Chateau Grove Senior Living Center, Barboursville, W.Va. He was born May 26, 1928, in Ritchie County, W.Va., a son of the late Herbert and Dimpsie Cunningham Eddy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Jack; one sister, Ernestine; and one brother, Robert. Blaine retired from the U.S. Army as Chief Warrant Officer W4 and from Ashland Oil, where he was an accounting system analyst. He was active in many service organizations and was a member of Kenova United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Theodosia, to whom he would have been married 60 years on November 23, 2010; two daughters, Sara and Nancy and her husband Joe; one son, Blaine and his wife Gloria; one sister, Eleanor; four granddaughters, Jackie, Amanda, Meghan and Jennifer; and two great-grandsons, Dakota and Evan. Carl was owner and operator of Carl's Milk Delivery for over 50 years. He was one of the last door-to-door milkmen. After his retirement from the milk delivery business, he delivered ice cream to many local businesses. He was a member of the American Legion, AARP, and was a member of the Oak Hill Bowlers Hall of Fame. He was a member of the Oak Hill City Council for 10 years. He was an avid WVU football and Cincinnati Reds baseball fan. Elmer was united in marriage to Cuba Maynor in West Virginia in 1956, before making Tipton their home where they raised four children, Hobert, David, Bruce and Wayne. Elmer worked many years at Petersen Hardware in Tipton before he and his partner, Ron Luikart, became owners. After Ron’s passing, Elmer purchased the store and continued to service and repair Tipton residents’ appliances until his retirement. Elmer is survived by his wife, Cuba; sons, Hobert (Terry) Flory of Stanwood, David (Carol Foster) Flory of Goodyear, Ariz., Bruce Flory of Marion and Wayne (Jill) Flory of Cedar Rapids; three sisters, Phyllis Lenschow, Elaine Fleanor and Joyce Hayes; four grandchildren, Dana, Travis, Chad and Lauren; and two great-grandchildren, Declan and Ryne.      Ila Mae Riner Ila Mae (Riner) Maynor, age 88, of Hico, WV, was reunited with her beloved husband on Thursday, July 18, 2019. Ila was born on Monday, April 20, 1931 in Gatewood, WV to the late Lud Carlton Riner and Russie Lynn (Fox) Riner. Ila was the widow of Robert “Bob” Waldo Maynor, whom she married on August 21, 1950, and who died on May 18, 2009. In addition to her parents and husband, Ila is preceded in death by her four brothers: Glendon Riner, Aubrey Riner, Paul Riner, Carl Riner; and her four sisters: Clara Dooley, Jessie Wiley, Griselda Murphy, and Audrey Ray. Ila’s survivors include her four daughters: Susan “Susie” Riner Maynor-Leech and her husband, Peter D., of Port Marion, Debra “Debbie” Ann Gould of Lawrenceburg, IN, Teresa Jane Cogar of Hico, WV, Sherrie Mae Koon and her husband, Patrick E., of Mechanicsburg; her eight grandchildren: Garth M. Leech and his wife, Jessica, and their son, Jackson, Craig M. Leech and his wife, Courtney, and their two children: Conner and Callie, Cheri Boardley and her husband, Michael, and their three children: Kayla, Austin, and Jocelyn, Dirk Maynor and his daughter, Randa, Jennifer Bailey and her husband, Robert, and their daughter, Marissa, Vanessa Garrett and her husband, Charlie, and their two children; Rachel and William, Aimee Koon and her daughter, Abby, Scott A. Koon; several nieces and nephews; and her beloved canine companion, Miss Lynn. Ila graduated from Fayetteville County High School as a part of the class of 1949. She labored on the family’s dairy farm, the largest in southern West Virginia, until beginning Beckley College in Beckley, WV. Ila met her husband, Bob, during her studies and the two soon eloped to Covington, VA before beginning their life of love together. The couple traveled to various states as a part of Bob’s job until returning to West Virginia in the 60’s where Ila earned her LPN. She worked as a nurse for over 40 years in various locations such as, hospitals, doctor’s offices, home healthcare, and emergency rooms. Ila was a lifelong member of Pleasant View Church of the Brethren in Fayetteville, WV, which sat on land that was donated by her father. She loved being a part of the church and was active in almost all ministries within the organization. Ila was a past member of Beta Sigma Phi, National Business Women’s Association, West Virginia LPN Association, and the Garden Club. She enjoyed traveling with and to see her siblings, who often doted on and spoiled her. Ila was very family oriented and she made great efforts to keep the family connected, which earned her the honor of becoming the family historian. She was a great cook and hard worker who was always involved in the community and her church. Ila was an extremely generous woman that utilized her love of shopping to find the perfect gifts to give. She loved the holidays and watching sports, especially West Virginia University. Her family and friends would refer to her as a sports fanatic because she never missed a Mountaineers basketball or football game and she knew every stat. All are welcome to join Ila’s family at her gathering of family and friends on Saturday, July 27, 2019, from 11:00 a.m. until time of service at 12:00 p.m. at Pleasant View Church of the Brethren, 6952 Gatewood Road, Fayetteville, WV 25840; with Pastor Kenny Hayes officiating. Ila’s family invites everyone to join them for a time of food and fellowship at her church immediately following the service.
