He was a butcher working at numerous grocery stores in the area. Mr. Steele was a member of the American Legion in Clarion, the Masons and the NRA, and was a past member and chief of the Farmington Township Volunteer Fire Department. He enjoyed hunting and going to auctions. Surviving are his lifelong companion, Peg Bauer of Crown; three daughters, Vickie Doutt and husband, James, of Clarion, Lorie Jean Neeper and companion, Dave Austen, of Newfield, N.Y., and Rae Singer and husband, Tim, of Woodland; and a grandchild, Ryan Voland. He also is survived by a brother, Harry Lee Steele and wife, Pattie, of Brookville. Ransel Jr. died on October 27, 2013 at Clearfield, Clearfield Co., Pennsylvania, at age 81.2,3 He Clyde A. Ransel Jr., 81, Clearfield, died Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013, at his home. Born Dec. 14, 1931, in Sigel, he was a son of the late Clyde A. Ransel and Margaret Cohlepp Ransel Mendenhall. He was married to Sally M. Mahlon McClure Ransel on June 19, 2010. She survives. Mr. Ransel was employed as the office manager with Marathon Equipment for five years, retiring in 1994. Prior to that he worked for the former Cameron Manufacturing for six years as the plant manager, the former Shortway Products for 11 years and for Sylvania Electric Products for 14 years. He also worked part time at the Clearfield Airport for 18 years and Wilkinson Subaru, Curwensville, for many years. He was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church, Clearfield, a Grand Knight with the Knights of Columbus Reynoldsville Council #935 and a member of the Knights of Columbus Clearfield Council #409 where he served as Financial Secretary for 39 years. He was also a member of the Clearfield American Legion John Lewis Shade Post #6, the Robert Ferguson Post #842 Veterans of Foreign Wars, Curwensville, the Shortway Pilots Club serving as maintenance officer and the local chapter of the Experimental Aircraft Association. Mr. Ransel was a private pilot and had a passion for flying. A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served with the U.S. Army. Survivors include four children: Randon P. Ransel of State College, Laurel Phillips and husband Albert of Phoenixville, Andrew Ransel and wife Margaret of Osceola Mills and Anita Sue Mead and husband Thomas of Bushkill; three grandchildren: Joshua Phillips, Alyse Phillips and Drew Mead; a sister, Judith Ann Minick and husband Kenneth of Summerville; a brother, Thomas Ransel and wife Darlene of Brookville; and a sister-in-law, Elizabeth Ransel of Sigel. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Edith A. Steele Ransel on March 14, 2003; and a brother, William Ransel. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today (Tuesday) and from 9-9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Kevin A. Beardsley Funeral Home, Clearfield. A Christian Vigil service will be held at 5:45 p.m. today at the funeral home. Mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the St. Francis Catholic Church in Clearfield with the Rev. Msgr. H. Desmond McGee Jr. celebrant. Burial will follow in the Calvary Cemetery, Clearfield. on October 29, 2013.2

She was born March 19, 1938 in Redbank Twp., Pa., a daughter to the late Harry B. and Helen (Benninger) Yeany. Kathryn attended Bradford High School and was a resident of Warren, PA since 1979. She retired from Cummins Engine Plant in Jamestown, N.Y. She enjoyed spending time with her family and had a passion for horses. Her farm was her favorite place to be. Many of her grandchildren considered her more than a grandmother. Kathryn was very involved in her grandchildren’s lives; she supported them throughout their high school sports, band activities and of course, she was their driving force for their participation in horse 4H. She loved to camp at the Warren County fair during fair week and attended all of the horse shows. Kathryn is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Daniel A. Stroup Jr; her children, Daniel A. (Melanie) Stroup III of Stanford, Ct., Kathy (Dennis) Simonette of Crestline, Ca., Mary Stroup of Victorville, Ca., and Douglas Stroup and his companion, Kim Hazen, of Warren, Pa; her grandchildren, Eric Stroup, Chris Stroup, Ryan Stroup, Daniel A.
