     Florence Maxine Sloan was buried at Rierson-Willett-Sloan Cemetery, 7529 Apple Grove Lane, Roanoke, Virginia.³ She was born on June 16, 1944 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.^1,2 As of August 23, 1963,her married name was Perdue.¹ She married Nelson Thomas Perdue, son of Wilton Charles "Ballard" Perdue and Annie Belle Wilson, on August 23, 1963 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.¹ Florence Maxine Sloan and Nelson Thomas Perdue were divorced on June 7, 1979 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.² Florence Maxine Sloan died on March 26, 2023 at Roanoke Co., Virginia, at age 78.³ She Florence S. Perdue, 78, of Roanoke County, Va., passed away into the hands of the Lord on Sunday, March 26, 2023. Florence was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey E. "Ed" and Vola A. Sloan, and her brother, Charley H. "Harvey" Sloan. Florence is survived by her daughter, Karen A. Hartman (Benjamin); her grandchildren, Jordan D. Hartman, Morgan D. Hartman-Bolte (Henry); her sister, Marie P. Wray; her brother, Forrest E. Sloan (Sandra); her nieces, Dana Ferguson (Bobby), Mandy Champney (Craig), Missie Boitnott (Freddie), Beth Turner (Tom); her nephew, Charley H. "Chuck" Sloan (Carol). Florence's family wishes to thank Carilion Clinic Hospice-Roanoke for their compassion in caring for Florence. There will be a graveside service at the Rierson-Willett-Sloan Cemetery at 7529 Apple Grove Lane, Roanoke, Va. on March 31, 2023.³
