     Richard J. Barr Richard J. Barr, 77, of Oil City, passed away on Thursday, December 6, 2018, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca. Born August 10, 1941, in Rockland, he was a son of the late William C. and Theresa J. Woloszyn Barr. Richard served in the US Navy for eight years, earning the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Korea). Richard worked for Pennzoil until his retirement in 2003. He was an active member of the Oil City VFW, PNA, and Pulaski Clubs. On March 20, 1965, Richard married the former Janice Carbaugh, who preceded him in death on July 15, 2012. Surviving are two children, a son, Chris Barr and wife, Julie, of Charlotte, NC and a daughter, Ambe DeLoach and husband, Mark, of Ventress, LA; and two grandchildren, Danielle Lewis of Salisbury, NC, and Cody Wolfe of Statesville, NC. Also surviving are nine Barr siblings, Charles, Virginia, Ron, Don, Terry, Jim, Joe, Arthur, and Alan; and his lifelong best friend, Greg Hutchinson, with whom he enjoyed motorcycle riding and spent countless hours on cross country trips. In addition to his parents, and wife, he was preceded in death by four siblings, Helen Cotton, Mary Aites, Harvey Barr, and infant sister, Twila Barr. At the request of Richard, there will be no visitation or services.3 He was born on August 10, 1941 at Rockland, Venango Co., Pennsylvania.3 He married Janice E. Carbaugh on March 20, 1965.2,3 Richard J. Barr died on December 6, 2018 at Seneca, Venango Co., Pennsylvania, at age 77.3

Born June 29, 1939, in Rockland, she was the daughter of William Charles and Theresa J. Woloszn Barr. Mrs. Aites was a member of the Pennsylvania State Fire Police and the Venango County Fire Police, of which she was fire police commissioner and recording secretary. She also served as deputy fire police commissioner. She was a member of Rouseville United Methodist Church and Cherrytree Volunteer Fire Department. Mrs. Aites was married Dec. 6, 1958, to Theodore H. Aites Jr., who died May 13, 2001. Surviving are four children, Mark Allen Aites of Seneca, Timothy Bruce Aites and wife, Jo Ann, and Matthew John Aites and wife, Michelle, all of Rouseville, and Terri Weber and husband, Chris, of Dempseytown; and seven grandchildren, L. David “Sam ” Aites, Bianca Louise Aites, Jessica Lynn Aites, Rachel Nicole Aites, Nicholas Matthew Aites, Kristen Renee Aites and Brianna Rochelle. She also is survived by the following brothers and sisters, Helen Cotton, Charles Barr, Richard Barr, Virginia Evans, Harvey Barr, Ronald Barr, Donald Barr, Terry Barr, James Barr, Mary Jo Aites Joey Barr, Arthur Barr and Alan Barr; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Mrs. Aites was preceded in death by a sister, Twila Marie Barr. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Morrison Funeral Home, Oil City. Funeral services will be held at 11 a m. Wednesday in the funeral home with the Rev. Richard Roberts, pastor of Oakland United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Gardens. on September 2, 2003.6

     Theodore Henry Aites Jr. was buried at Sunset Hill Memorial Park, Route 322, Cranberry Township, Venango Co., Pennsylvania.1,3 He Theodore H. Aites Jr., 69, of 20 Buchanan St., Rouseville, died at 11:10 p.m. Sunday, May 13, 2001, in the Transitional Care Unit of Northwest Medical Center, Oil City. Born April 15, 1932, in Oil City, he was a son of the late Theodore H. Aites Sr. and Mary Dunkerly Aites. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict, having been in the National Guard that was mobilized in 1952. He was in the U.S. Army with the 112th Infantry, 28th Division, where he was a platoon sergeant. Mr. Aites had worked at Worthington, then worked 29 years at Foster Forbes and last worked at Venango Newspapers. He had been police chief of Rouseville Borough for 17 years. He also was a constable and served as a Venango County deputy sheriff. Mr. Aites was a member of the Fraternal Lodge No. 483, F. & A.M., Venango Lodge of Perfection, the Coudersport Consistory and the Acacia Grotto. He was married Dec. 6, 1958, to Mary Jo Barr, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Mark Allen Aites of Seneca, Timothy Bruce Aites and his wife, Jo Ann, and Matthew John Aites and his wife, Michelle Lea, all of Rouseville; a daughter and her husband, Terri Lee and Chris Weber of Dempseytown; and six grandchildren, Linden "Sam" Aites, Jessica Aites, Bianca Aites, Nicholas Aites, Rachel Aites and Kristen Aites. He also is survived by three sisters, Clara Dittman of Tippery, Betty Apel of Florida and Mary "Duke" Gutowski of Albion; a half sister, Sandra Norcross of Florida; a stepsister, Judy Swartzfager of Erie; four half brothers, Ronald Aites, William Aites, Raymond Aites and Robert Aites; and several nieces and nephews. There will be no visitation. Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
