     Jay Edwin Wolff Sr. was buried at Clarion Cemetery, 2nd Avenue, Clarion, Clarion Co., Pennsylvania.^2,1,3 He was born on July 27, 1891 at Oak Ridge, Armstrong Co., Pennsylvania.^1,3,5,4 He married Clara Irene Beatty, daughter of James Robert Beatty and Priscilla "Cilla" Simpson, on August 15, 1913 at Wellsburg, Brooke Co., West Virginia.^1,3,6 Jay Edwin Wolff Sr. died on December 22, 1947 at Clarion, Clarion Co., Pennsylvania, at age 56.^1,3 He Jay Edwin Wolff, 56, died at his home in Liberty street on Monday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock following a brief illness. Mr. Wolff was born July 27, 1891 at Oak Ridge, Pa., a son of David and Mary Jane Fink Wolff. He received his education in the Oak Ridge schools, the New Bethlehem high school and the Clarion State Teachers College. In 1913 he was married to Irene Beatty and in 1918 he moved to Clarion. He was a member of the Methodist church, the Argyle lodge, No. 540, F. and A.M. of Chicora. He was a member of the Clarion fire department for a number of years, serving as chief for a year and as secretary for many years. He also served as secretary of the borough council for several years and secretary of the Joppa club, F. and A.M. of Clarion for a number of years. He was employed at the Clarion State Teachers College for the past 20 years as receiving clerk. Surviving are his wife and the following children: Joan and Jean at home; Mrs. Priscilla Renninger of Clarion; Mrs. Alice Ritts of Emlenton, R. D; Jay E. Wolff, Jr. of Strattanville, Also surviving are five grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Pearl Doverspike of Kittanning and Mrs. Ethel Barger of Oak Ridge. A funeral service will be held from the family home of Friday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, the Rev. A. C. Howe officiating. Interment will be in the Clarion cemetery. on December 25, 1947.¹

He was born July 14, 1914, the son of Manuel and Agnes Eccles Renninger. Mr. Renninger was married in August, 1941, to Priscilla Wolff, who survives. He had been employed at the Owens - Illinois Glass Company in Clarion for 52 years. Mr. Renninger was a member of Immaculate Conception Church of Clarion and a veteran of World War II. In addition to his wife, he is survived by the following children: Mrs. Linda Culbertson of Buffalo, N.Y., Michael of Oil City, Mary Beth, Leroy Jr., Robert and Edward Jay, all at home; a sister. Mrs. Florence Lewis of Clarion; a brother, Charles of Clarion; and two grandchildren. A son preceded him in death. on August 4, 1965.³

Born in Clarion County on September 19, 1926, she was the daughter of LeRoy Walker and Leona Fescenmyer Walker. Marquerite worked at Owens-Illinois Glass and was a homemaker. On June 9, 1946 she married Jay E. Wolff, Jr. They had celebrated 50 years of marriage before his death on January 10, 1997. She was a member of the Church of Nazarene in Clarion, the Clarion VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and the Clarion Eagles Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bingo, cards, and attending her grandchildren's school activities. She is survived by two daughters: Sandy Simpson, Shippenville and Cindy Wolff Neely of Clarion, two sons: Jay E. Wolff III of Clarion, and David "Kendra" Wolff of Shippenville, two sisters: Betty McCleary of Parkersburg, WV and Ann Louise Craft of Franklin, twelve grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, one great great-grandson and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding her in death were her parents, husband, two sisters: Evelyn Rapp and Lucille Jones and two brothers: Edward and Paul Walker and one grandson: Christopher Wolff. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 pm and 7 to 9 pm on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at Goble Funeral Home and Crematory, 330 Wood Street, Clarion, PA. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Rev. Mark Smith, pastor of the Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Interment will be in the Clarion Cemetery. on April 21, 2012.²
