He worked for Willett Brothers Transportation for 19 years and then was owner and operator of Jake's Garage for 32 years. He was a member of Haran Baptist Church and was preceded in death by a son, Danny Lee Likens. Surviving is his wife of 62 years, Mary G. Likens; children, Dewey W. Likens Jr. and wife, Sue, Wayne Likens, Jimmy Likens, Debbie L. She was the daughter of the late Walter Nichols and the late Eula Oliver Nichols and was preceded in death by her husband, Mr. Terry Irvin Guilliams and was a member of the Faith Fellowship Baptist Church. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Barbara and Donald E. Grantham of Callaway; Mary and Earl Hudson of Fort Mill, S.C; two sons and daughters-in-law, James and Mary Frances Guilliams, Cecil and Bertha Guilliams, all of Roanoke; eight grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; one sister, Elizabeth Floyd of Richmond. Funeral services will conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Arrington-Bussey Funeral Chapel by the Rev. Pat Collins. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. on July 29, 1990.⁴

He was born, August 6, 1930, in Callaway, Virginia. James served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from the United States Postal Service after 32 years of service and also retired from Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. James was a longtime, faithful member of Rockingham Court United Methodist Church. James was preceded in death by a son, Richard Allen Guilliams; and his parents, Terry Guilliams and Thelma Nichols Guilliams; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Bill and Casey Bernard. He is survived by his wife, Mary Frances Bernard Guilliams; daughter and son-in-law, Teresa and Bill Richards; son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Allison Guilliams; grandchildren, Amber Richards of Alexandria, Alex Richards of Philadelphia, Andy Richards, Matthew Guilliams and Rachel Guilliams all of Roanoke; brother and sister-in-law, Cecil and Bertha Guilliams of Roanoke; two sisters, Barbara Grantham of Callaway, Mary Hudson of Rocky Mount; sisters-in-law, Sue Bernard, Shelby Nemeth, Patricia Custer and Betty Bernard. Special thanks to the care provided to James by Pheasant Ridge Nursing Home and Heartland Hospice. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at Conner Bowman Funeral Home with Pastor Nathan Colwell officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park, Boones Mill, Va. with Military Honors by the United States Army Honor Guard. on March 31, 2019.¹

     Cecil Howard Guilliams was buried at Franklin Memorial Park, Virgil Goode Highway, Rocky Mount, Franklin Co., Virginia.⁵ He was born on October 3, 1931 at Franklin Co., Virginia.³ He married Bertha Green on May 9, 1953 at Chester Co., South Carolina.⁴ Cecil Howard Guilliams died on June 21, 2020 at Virginia at age 88.⁵ He Cecil Howard Guilliams age 88 of Roanoke passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2020. Cecil was an United States Army Veteran having served during the Korean Conflict and retired with 55 years of service from Noland Company, Inc. He was a son of the late Terry and Thelma Nichols Guilliams and was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kendall Guilliams; brother, James T. Guilliams; brothers-in-law, Don Grantham and Earl Hudson. He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Bertha G. Guilliams; daughter, Terry McConaughy (Robert), Roanoke; son, Cecil H. "Chuck" Guilliams (Michelle), Bedford; five grandchildren, Mary Margaret McConaughy, Kathleen, Alyssa, Joshua and Jacob Guilliams; one great-grandson, Nolan Guilliams; sisters, Barbara Ann Grantham and Mary Hudson; sister-in-law, Mary Guilliams. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, other family members and a host of many friends. Graveside services will be conducted at Franklin Memorial Park. on June 25, 2020.⁵

     Donald Eskridge Grantham was buried at Fairmont Baptist Church Cemetery, intersection of Rt. 643 & Rt. 739, Franklin Co., Virginia.³ He was born on December 23, 1934 at Pulaski Co., Virginia.² He married Barbara Ann Guilliams, daughter of Terry Irvin Guilliams and Thelma May Nichols, on January 31, 1953 at Chester Co., South Carolina.^4,5 Donald Eskridge Grantham died on March 6, 2018 at Virginia at age 83.³ He Donald E. Grantham, 83, of Callaway went to be with the Lord Tuesday, March 6, 2018. Don was preceded in death by his sister, Jewell Dunmore and a son, Steve Grantham. Don was a dedicated member of Fairmont Baptist Church where he served in many capacities over the years including Trustee, Deacon and Sunday School Teacher. He was the owner and operator of Ridgerunner Motors for 16 years and was always quick to help anyone in need but he always put his family first. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Barbara A. Grantham; children, Patricia G. Dudley (Michael), Michael Grantham (Donna) and Darla Grantham-Guilliams (Gary Brown); grandchildren, Steve, Danielle (whom both considered him a father), Scott, Keith, Brad, Derrick, Darren, Nicki, Kimberly, and Justin; 23 great-grandchildren; special friends, Buddy and Paige White and Fred and Linda Jamison. Funeral services will be conducted from Faith Fellowship Church 3 p.m. Friday, March 9, 2018 with Pastor Gary Hoffman officiating. Interment will follow at Fairmont Baptist Church Cemetery. on March 8, 2018.³

Steve loved to watch football and racing but his true passion in life was his family, especially his grandkids whom he enjoyed taking walks with.
