Gaunt, 68, former Portland factory employe, died Thursday morning at his home here, after an extended illness. He is survived by the widow, Iva; one daughter, Mrs. Thomas Irelan of Hartford City; one son, Natnan of Gas City; a foster daughter, Mrs. Iva Parks of Portland; one stepson, Thomas Irelan of Hartford City; six grand children and two sisters, Mrs. John Ross of Dunkirk and Mrs. Howard Bousman of Hartford City. Funeral services will be con ducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Baird Mortuary by the Rev. J. H. MulL Friends may call at the residence until Saturday noon, when the casket will be returned to the mortuary. on October 31, 1952.2

     Roy Douglas Marley was buried at Elwood City Cemetery, Elwood, Madison Co., Indiana.1,4 He was born on July 9, 1910 at Matthews, Grant Co., Indiana.2,4 He married Laura Belle Stephens, daughter of John Lewis Stephens and Elizabeth Mae Dinkins, on February 7, 1931.6,3 Roy Douglas Marley Roy Marley, 33, residing North Eighth street and the Fairgrounds Road, died following an attack of acute indigestion while enroute to work at the Pierce-Governor plant, at Anderson, this morning. The deceased was stricken with the attack while driving his car and occurred about one mile south of Orestes. Unable to operate the car, he made his way afoot to the home of Garland Dwiggins, at Orestes, where he succumbed before medical attention could arrive. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vance Marley, of Alexandria. He was united in marriage on Feb. 7, 1931 to Laurabelle Stevens, who survives. Surviving besides the widow, are two children, Douglas Eugene, age 12, and Delores Joan, age 10. The father and mother, and two sisters, Mrs. Ada Miller, and Mrs. Delores Bookout, all of Alexandria, also survive. The body was removed to the Roger Gipe funeral home, at Alexandria, and it later removed to the York Memorial Home, at this city, where it remains pending the completion of funeral arrangements. on September 8, 1943.3 He died on September 8, 1943 at Madison Co., Indiana, at age 33.3,4

Runyan and Elizabeth Mae Dinkins, in 1930.1,3 James Brotherton James Brotherton, 42, residing at 936 North Eleventh street, died at 11 o'clock this morning, of a complication of ailments, after a long illness. The son of George and Barbara Brotherton, he was born at Montpelier. In 1930 he was united in marriage to Mrs. Minnie Davis. Mr. Brotherton was an employe of the Illinois Pipe Line Company. He enjoyed a wide circle of friends. Surviving besides the widow are one son, James, 2 years old; four stepchildren, Norman, Lester and Edward Davis and Mrs. Francis Marion, all of Montpelier; mother, Mrs. Barbara Brotherton, of Montpelier, and one brother, Lee Brotherton, of Montpelier. The body was removed to the Clark chapel and prepared for burial. The funeral service celebrating the life of Mrs. Woodson will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, January 19, 2009 at the Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street with the Pastor Larry Tingle officiating. Calling hours will be from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home. In keeping with Mrs. Woodson's request, the casket will be closed. Burial will be in the Garland Brook Cemetery in Columbus, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Autism Society of America or to the American Lung Association. Mrs. Woodson was married to Virgil E. Woodson in Columbus, Ind. on August 18, 1950 and after 58 years of marriage he preceded her in death on October 17, 2008. Survivors include a daughter, Linda Woodson-Setinsek of Warner Robbins, Ga; a son, Larry Lawdermilt of New Port Richey, Fla; four grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Mr. Woodson was a longtime active member of Memorial Baptist Church in Columbus and formerly served as a trustee, usher and usher captain. He enjoyed playing golf and was a sports enthusiast, especially when it came to baseball and NASCAR. A funeral service and military rites were conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, October 19, 2008, at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Warner Robins. He married Florence Day Dec. 1, 1944, in North Vernon. She survives. Also surviving are sons, William Lee Davis of Bloomington and Ronald Lynn Davis of Jeffersonville; a daughter, Katherine Marie Morin of North Vernon; a brother, Edward L. Davis of Tampa, Fla; and grandchildren, Scott Davis of Bloomington, Lynn Davis of Jeffersonville and Eric and Adam Davis and Brad Morin, all of North Vernon. He was preceded in death by four brothers, one sister, and one sister, and one granddaughter, Carrie Ann Davis. on February 21, 1998.6
