The deceased was stricken with the attack while driving his car and occurred about one mile south of Orestes. Unable to operate the car, he made his way afoot to the home of Garland Dwiggins, at Orestes, where he succumbed before medical attention could arrive. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Vance Marley, of Alexandria. He was united in marriage on Feb. 7, 1931 to Laurabelle Stevens, who survives. Surviving besides the widow, are two children, Douglas Eugene, age 12, and Delores Joan, age 10. The father and mother, and two sisters, Mrs. Ada Miller, and Mrs. Delores Bookout, all of Alexandria, also survive. The body was removed to the Roger Gipe funeral home, at Alexandria, and it later removed to the York Memorial Home, at this city, where it remains pending the completion of funeral arrangements. on September 8, 1943.³ He died on September 8, 1943 at Madison Co., Indiana, at age 33.^3,4

He enjoyed a wide circle of friends. Surviving besides the widow are one son, James, 2 years old; four stepchildren, Norman, Lester and Edward Davis and Mrs. Francis Marion, all of Montpelier; mother, Mrs. Barbara Brotherton, of Montpelier, and one brother, Lee Brotherton, of Montpelier. The body was removed to the Clark chapel and prepared for burial. The funeral service celebrating the life of Mrs. Woodson will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. on Monday, January 19, 2009 at the Myers-Reed Chapel on 25th Street with the Pastor Larry Tingle officiating. Calling hours will be from 1:30 p.m. until the time of the service on Monday at the funeral home. In keeping with Mrs. Woodson's request, the casket will be closed. Mr. Woodson was born in Pike County, Mo., March 17, 1927, the son of the late Floyd and Juanita Thompson Woodson. He married Barbara Randall Lawdermilt August 18, 1950. She survives. Surviving with his wife of 58 years are a daughter, Linda Woodson-Setinsek of Warner Robins, Ga; a stepson, Larry Lawdermilt of New Port Richey, Fla; four grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren. Mr. Woodson was a 1945 Columbus High School graduate. He was a former contract quality assurance specialist with the Defense Department in Columbus, Ohio, retiring in 1990 after 40 years of service as an employee of the federal government. Following his retirement, he and his wife moved to Warner Robins. He served in the U.S. Navy for a period of time during and after World War II. After receiving an honorable discharge, he became a Harley-Davidson Motorcycle Sales and Service businessman in Columbus. Mr. Woodson was a longtime active member of Memorial Baptist Church in Columbus and formerly served as a trustee, usher and usher captain. He enjoyed playing golf and was a sports enthusiast, especially when it came to baseball and NASCAR. A funeral service and military rites were conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, October 19, 2008, at the Heritage Memorial Funeral Home in Warner Robins. A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m., Wednesday, October 22, 2008, at Garland Brook Cemetery with the Rev. Larry Tingle, the Rev. He was a member of First Baptist Church, the Masonic Lodge, Rolling Hills Shrine Club, the Murat Temple and Knights Temple of the Scottish Rite. He served in the Army 1st Armored Division in the European Campaign during World War II. Funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at First Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dan Barringer officiating. Richard Morin will be eulogist. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Vance-Fisher-Sawyer Funeral Home. Burial will be at Vernon Cemetery. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Building Fund. Mr. Davis was born in Elwood, May 12, 1921, the son of Clyde and Minnie Runyan Davis. He married Florence Day Dec. 1, 1944, in North Vernon. She survives. Also surviving are sons, William Lee Davis of Bloomington and Ronald Lynn Davis of Jeffersonville; a daughter, Katherine Marie Morin of North Vernon; a brother, Edward L. Davis of Tampa, Fla; and grandchildren, Scott Davis of Bloomington, Lynn Davis of Jeffersonville and Eric and Adam Davis and Brad Morin, all of North Vernon. He was preceded in death by four brothers, one sister, and one sister, and one granddaughter, Carrie Ann Davis. on February 21, 1998.⁶

     His Social Security Number was 317-14-6960.⁴ Edward Lee Davis was born on March 26, 1926 at Elwood, Madison Co., Indiana.^4,5,10 He married Doris Faye Paschal on March 30, 1953 at Montgomery Co., Ohio.¹¹ Edward Lee Davis and Doris Faye Paschal were divorced in April, 1958 at Hillsborough Co., Florida.⁶ Edward Lee Davis died on January 16, 2006 at Alabama at age 79.^4,10

     Della Mae Davis was buried at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, 15 Bethel Road, Parkersburg, Wood Co., West Virginia.⁶ Her married name was Marion.⁴ She was born on September 24, 1917 at Elwood, Madison Co., Indiana.² She married Francis Turl Marion circa 1933.^4,7,8 Della Mae Davis and Francis Turl Marion were divorced on July 22, 1969 at Washington Co., Ohio.⁷ Della Mae Davis died on August 4, 1970 at Wood Co., West Virginia, at age 52.³

     His Social Security Number was 234-03-5967.⁶ Francis Turl Marion was buried at Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery, 15 Bethel Road, Parkersburg, Wood Co., West Virginia.⁴ He was born on August 2, 1907 at Blackford Co., Indiana.^3,6 He married Della Mae Davis, daughter of Clyde Thomas Davis and Minnie Marie Runyan, circa 1933.^1,2,5 Francis Turl Marion and Della Mae Davis were divorced on July 22, 1969 at Washington Co., Ohio.² Francis Turl Marion died in July, 1976 at Wood Co., West Virginia, at age 68.⁶

     William C. Davis Sr. was buried at Elwood City Cemetery, Elwood, Madison Co., Indiana.^2,3 He was born on October 24, 1910 at Elwood, Madison Co., Indiana.^1,2,3,4 He married Agatha Eady circa 1928.^7,3,5 William C. Davis Sr. married Ruth A. Paul on September 30, 1945 at Franklin Co., Ohio.⁴ William C. Davis Sr. died on March 25, 1964 at Fort Wayne, Allen Co., Indiana, at age 53.^1,2,3 He ELWOOD - William C. Davis, 53, 409 W. 8th St., died Wednesday at the Irene Byrum Hospital in Fort Wayne, after an illness of three years. A native of Elwood, he was the son of Clyde and Minnie Davis. He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Minnie Brotherton of Elwood; a daughter, Mrs. Verna Eubank of Tampa, Fla; a son, William Davis Jr. of Elwood; a sister, Mrs. Della Mae Marion of Parkersburg, W. Va; three brothers, Norman Davis of Westerville, Ohio, Lester Davis of North Vernon and Edward L. Davis of Tampa, Fla; and a half-brother, James Brotherton of Oklahoma. The body was removed to the Robert L. Jackley Funeral Home, where arrangements are being made. on March 26, 1964.¹
