Shumake, age 90, of Pensacola died Tuesday, July 10, 2001 at a local hospital. Mrs. Shumake was born on October 18, 1910 in Farmington, Missouri. She came to Pensacola in the 1940s. Sarah was a member of Myrtle Grove Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Shumake and her two sons, Bobby Rodgers and Eugene Rodgers. She is survived by her daughter, Janet Rodgers (Rick) Ashcroft of Pensacola; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Rodgers of Escondido, California; two sisters, Albertine (Buck) Bye of De-Soto, Missouri and Pat Roberts of Shipman, Illinois; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. Her family's sincere thanks go to her physician, Dr, James Stringfield Ill; his staff; and all the staff on the Fourth Ftoor West at Baptist Hospital. on July 12, 2001.2
