Willis of Chickamauga, Ga; sister, Iris Mitchell of Roanoke; 14 grandchildren; six aunts; two uncles; 13 nieces and nephews; and many friends from the Myrtle Church of the Old Regular Baptist in Palm Bay. Calling hours are 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Melbourne chapel of South Brevard Funeral Homes. Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at Myrtle Church of the Old Regular Baptist on Brandywine Lane in West Melbourne. on March 26, 1987.9

Born on April 5, 1928, in Roanoke, Va., Eugene lived in his birthplace for most of his life. He served his country in the United States Navy from 1946 to 1948. He married Mabel in 1951 and worked at the Norfolk Southern Railroad for 38 years. During his retirement, he traveled extensively in the United States visiting 49 of the 50 states. The daily Roanoke Times crossword and his workshop received his free time at home. On Wednesdays and Sundays, Eugene was found at Vinton Baptist Church where he exemplified the servant character of a life time deacon. He held up his family in love and was held in their love in the end. His strength and character inspired friend and relative alike to attain a higher standard for him or herself. Maintaining his easy-going way and humility, Eugene walked through life as a good man. He did not condescend and found good in everyone. People mattered most to him and he felt much gratitude when they cared for him. The Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m. on Friday, December 24, 2010, at Vinton Baptist Church. Eugene will be laid to rest at Mountain View Cemetery immediately following the funeral service. on December 23, 2010.4

Herndon, Donnie and Klea Yancey, Erika Bailey, Trey Mitchell, Brandon Bailey, Joseph Mitchell, Chloe Austin, and Trevor Austin; and great-grandchildren, Tripp Herndon, Mitchell Herndon, Evana Yancey and Isabelle Yancey; brother-in-law, James K. Mitchell Jr. and wife, Reta; sisters-in-law, Marjo, Margie, Mabel and Helen Willis; and several nieces; and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 17, 2014 at Oakey's Vinton Chapel with the Rev. Dr. Kevin Meadows and the Rev. Mark Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. on July 16, 2014.4

     Marjo Marie Martin West Melbourne - Marjo Marie Martin Willis, 90, of West Melbourne, FL, passed away on October 20, 2016. She is survived by her sister, Kathryn Merrow, of Melbourne, FL, her son, Otis (Lou) Willis of Fleming, GA, and daughters Terri (James) McMillan of Savannah, GA, and Tammi (Keith) Cummings of West Melbourne, FL. She leaves behind 8 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Marjo was born on April 19, 1926, in West Palm Beach, FL and is preceded in death by her parents Robert and Mildred Platt Martin and her beloved husband Otis Willis. Marjo was an honorable woman who always put her church and family first. She will be missed by many, but her strength, caring and loving support will be ever-lasting to those whose lives she touched.3 She was born on April 19, 1926 at West Palm Beach, Palm Beach Co., Florida.3 As of July, 1946,her married name was Willis.1 She married Otis Marshall Willis Sr., son of Morton Marshall Willis and Martha Edna Guilliams, in July, 1946 at Brevard Co., Florida.1,2,3 Marjo Marie Martin died on October 20, 2016 at Brevard Co., Florida, at age 90.3
