He was an electronics technician for 20 years, retiring from the Crane Naval Surface Warfare Center. He was a 21-year Army veteran and member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Crane and the Bloomfield American Legion. He was a member of the Harvest Community Church. Also surviving are his wife, Freda (Parsons); two sons, Douglas of Bloomfield and Alan of Loogootee; five sisters, Nina Kinzer of Mount Clemens, Mich., Wilma Magnus of Crane, Shirley Foddrill of Bedford, and Reba Chambers and Betty Heistand, both of Bedford; a brother, Ben of Bedford and seven grandchildren. Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Harvest Community Church in Bloomfield, with burial in Scotland Cemetery in Scotland, Ind., with military rites. on October 15, 1999.5

Speck and his wife Janet of Fishers; four sisters, Nina Kinzer of Urtica, MI, Betty Heistand and Shirley Foddrill, both of Bedford, and Wilma Magnus of Crane; one grandson, Chris Speck of Indianapolis; and two great-grandsons, Kavan and Samuel Speck, both of Indianapolis. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Brenda Sue Speck; and five brothers, Wayne L., Danny Joe, Clarence, Ben, and Bob Neely. No services are scheduled. All arrangements are under the direction of the Day & Carter Mortuary. on April 21, 2004.6
