Lee Roy Jamison on January 12, 1946 at Roanoke, Virginia.3,4,5,8 Evelyn Lula Webb died on September 7, 2010 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia, at age 91.5,9 She Evelyn Webb Jamison, of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2010, after an extended illness. Born on June 2, 1919, she was the ninth of thirteen children born to William and Ella Webb, of Callaway, Va. She is survived by her husband of 64 years, the Rev. Lee R. Jamison, of Roanoke; as well as by two sons, David Jamison and wife, Kathy, of Lake Ridge, Va., and Douglas and wife, Deedee Jamison, of Danville, Va; and by three grandchildren, Michael Jamison, of Greensboro, N.C., Christian Jamison, of Danville, Va., and Anne Hudson, of Honolulu, Hawaii. Also surviving is her loving sister, Frances Stover, of Roanoke. As a minister's wife, Mrs. Jamison always graciously performed her duties behind the scenes, serving the church people as her own family. During the last years of her life she suffered several small strokes from which she always tried valiantly to recover. She fought the good fight and will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends and family at the Lotz Funeral Home, 1330 E. Main Street, Salem on Thursday, September 9, 2010, from 5 to 9 p.m. Interment will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, September 10, 2010, at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, 5737 Airport Road, Roanoke. A Memorial Service will take place 2 p.m. on Friday at the Central United Methodist Church, 428 College Avenue, Salem. The Rev. Kristin Holbrook will officiate. on September 9, 2010.5

She was born in Callaway, and she was the last surviving of 13 children born to William "Bill" and Ella Moran Webb. Fran was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lester K. Stover Jr. They had four children, Tom (Ellen), Becky, Reg and Mark. She had seven grandchildren, Brian Davis (Robin), Brad Davis (deceased), Brett Davis (Meredith), Carly Walton (Peter), Brent Stover (Erin), Joel Stover (Monica) and Neil Stover (Jennifer); five great-grandchildren, John Austin, J. D. and Colt Davis, Thomas and Keller Walton. Frances was an active member of Grandin Court Baptist Church for over 60 years and a former trustee of the church. She was constantly cooking, sewing and visiting others. Her children want to thank all of her family at Grandin Court Baptist Church, Libra and Shirley from Home Instead, Good Samaritan Hospice and Rita Richardson and Nannie Jamison for all the special love and care they showed their mother. A service celebrating Frances' life will be held at Grandin Court Baptist Church 11 a.m. Saturday, July 18, 2015, with the Rev. Dr. Kevin Meadows and the Rev. Charles Krause officiating. Interment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park. on July 17, 2015.4

After graduating from Asbury College and Asbury Theological Seminary, Lee was ordained as an elder in the Methodist Church in 1952 and pastored churches in New Castle, Buchanan, Gordonsville, Barboursville, Danville, Salem, Portsmouth, Colonial Heights, Richmond, and Dayton before retiring in Roanoke with his late wife Evelyn, where he lived for 40 more years. As the husband of Evelyn Webb, he was the last survivor of a generation of thirteen siblings and twelve spouses which began in 1905. After graduating from Jefferson High School on D-Day, June 6, 1944, Lee began a long association with the U.S. Navy. He proudly served on the USS Lexington, a battleship in the Pacific fleet, as a signalman on deck. He later returned to Officers' Training School and received a commission as a chaplain in the Naval Reserves, rising to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. He loved the Navy and relished his times as a chaplain. Known for his quick wit, Lee will be missed by family, friends, nurses, and congregants alike. Well done, Dad. We will love you always. on August 5, 2021.7
