Surviving is the wife, Mary Plaster Teaford. on November 16, 1978.³ He Norman Teaford, 81, died Nov. 14 at the Lakeview Hospital in Danville after an illness of three days. He was taken to French Lick, Indiana, for the funeral on Friday, Nov. 17. Burial was at Ames Chapel Cemetery in Orange County, Indiana. Norman Teaford, son of Esther (Hammond) Teaford and William Henry Teaford, was born April 24, 1897 near Young's Creek, Indiana. In early manhood he left Indiana and went to the Chicago area, where he worked as a plumber, until he retired. In 1952, he was married to Mary Plaster, a native of Marshall, who survives. After retirement, they moved to Marshall where they have lived for the past seven years. Other survivors include a half sister, Mrs. Olive Berkenmeier of Evansville, Indiana; two nephews, a niece, and several cousins. He was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters. on November 27, 1978.⁴

     Sylvia H. Teaford was born in May, 1898 at Indiana.³ As of circa 1921,her married name was Howell.⁴ She married Thomas Theodford Howell circa 1921.^4,2

     Zada E. Teaford was born circa 1901 at Orange Co., Indiana.¹ As of circa 1924,her married name was Browning.² She married Clarence Ivan Browning circa 1924.^2,3 Zada E. Teaford died on January 2, 1956 at Cook Co., Illinois.⁴

Mrs. Applegate died June 23 at Immanuel Medical Center in Omaha. She was born Sept. 7, 1927, in Council Bluffs to Thomas T. and Sylvia H. (Teaford) Howell. She was a 1945 graduate of Thomas Jefferson High School. She was a claims analyst for Mutual of Omaha. She retired in 1987 after 21 years service. She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and Daughters of The Nile. Survivors include her husband, Neal S. Applegate, of Crescent; daughters, Patricia Plummer of Charlotte, N.C., and Carol Paskach and husband, Charles, of Papillion, Neb; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery followed by a luncheon at Westminister Presbyterian. Memorials may be offered to Westminster Presbyterian Church or the family. on June 25, 2003.⁴

     Robert Allan Browning was born on July 12, 1927 at Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., California.^2,3,4 He married Gerry Bowman circa 1952.⁴ Robert Allan Browning died on March 30, 2007 at Ventura Co., California, at age 79.^3,4 He Robert Allan Browning, a good and gentle man, ended his almost four-year battle with lymphoma on March 30, 2007. To the end, he was a role model in his courage and good humor. Bob had many interesting experiences in his life, but none brought him more joy than being with his family. He was born in Los Angeles on July 12, 1927, and at the age of 1 1/2 moved with his parents, Clarence and Zada Browning, and older sister, Jeanne, to Chicago, Ill. Sadly, Jeanne died at the age of 7 from spinal meningitis. Throughout this life, Bob was a leader. In high school he received special commendation and a write-up in the Chicago Tribune for heading the school's scrap iron drive during the war years. He was one of two young men in the city to attain the rank of lieutenant colonel in the ROTC and he graduated first in his class. Fresh out of high school, he served a year in the Army and then enrolled at Illinois Institute of Technology as an electrical engineering major. After receiving his degree, he went to work for Bell Aircraft, near Buffalo, N.Y. That same year, he married Gerry Bowman, a girl he had met in the church youth group, where, again, he was a leader. He always said it was "love at first sight." In 1954 Bell Aircraft sent him to Point Mugu as the flight test coordinator for the Meteor missile. After settling in Ventura, he and Gerry knew that they had no interest in returning to Buffalo. Bob then went to work for Raytheon Co. He worked for 20 years at the Oxnard plant and 15 at the one in Goleta. He was involved with the reliability, maintainability and safety of various missile systems and worked extensively with all of the armed forces. Shortly before retiring from Raytheon in 1989, he presented a paper at the National Symposium of Electrical and Electronic Engineers. Retirement brought work of a different kind. He and Gerry spent four summers as restoration and interpretive volunteers with the U.S. Forest Service at the Tallac Historic Site, Lake Tahoe. When they learned that the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library was about to open, they became docents and remained active volunteers for 15 years. Bob served as president of the volunteer association for two years, was on the education committee and wrote the by-laws for the organization. In addition, he frequently helped Gerry in her docent activities at the Museum of Ventura County in downtown Ventura. In 2005, in conjunction with National Philanthropy Day, they were jointly selected to receive the Volunteer of the Year award for Ventura County. Bob was a member of Ventura First United Methodist Church and over the years served as chairman of the finance committee; was on the pastor/parish committee; was an usher; and, along with Gerry, headed the family life committee and was counselor for the youth fellowships. Bob enjoyed traveling, having visited 34 countries and all but two states. He was a "true blue" Dodger fan and always looked forward to baseball season. He found enjoyment in camping, reading, writing both prose and poetry (as he said, with a name such as his, he had to at least try!) designing a model railroad layout and playing word games. He is deeply missed by Gerry, his wife of 55 years; daughters, Robin Browning of Truckee, Calif., and Jill Stowell (husband David) of Chino, Calif; sons, Randy Browning (wife Beth) of Carlsbad, Calif., and Todd Browning (wife Danielle) of Pilot Hill, Calif; and grandchildren, Aaron Browning, Lauren Browning, Nichole Browning, Christy Stowell and Kevin Stowell. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, April 5, at First United Methodist Church, 1338 E. Santa Clara St., Ventura. The Rev. Charles Simmons will officiate. on April 4, 2007.⁴

     Neal Spencer Applegate was buried at Memorial Park Cemetery, Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie Co., Iowa.⁴ He married Marjorie Geraldine Howell, daughter of Thomas Theodford Howell and Sylvia H. Teaford.¹ Neal Spencer Applegate was born on May 29, 1923 at Oakland, Pottawattamie Co., Iowa.^5,2,3,4 He died on May 6, 2005 at Council Bluffs, Pottawattamie Co., Iowa, at age 81.^5,4 He Neal S. Applegate, 81, of Crescent died May 6 at Risen Son Nursing Home. He was born in Oakland on May 29, 1923, to Otway "Claire" and Ina (Cooney) Applegate. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942-45 during World War II. He was employed as a mail handler for the Union Pacific Railroad for 20 years. He also worked for Skelly Oil Co. and for the Council Bluffs School System in the Food Service department for 12 years, retiring there in 1985. He then was employed as a driver for Cutler-O'Neill Funeral Home. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church where he served as an usher and shriner in the Greeters Group. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie, who died on June 23, 2003. Survivors include two daughters, Patricia Plummer of Charlotte, N.C. and Carol Paskach and husband, Charles, of Papillion, Neb; two brothers, Ray and wife, Dortha, of Springfield, Mo., and Cecil and wife, Esther, of California; five granchildren and five great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cutler-O'Neill-Meyer-Woodring Funeral Home. Services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the funeral home's chapel with the Rev. Aaron Simmons, pastor of Westminster Presbyterian Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with military rites by the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 737. A lunch will follow at the church. Memorials may be offered to the American Cancer Society. on May 8, 2005.⁴
