Dorine Bernice Hammond was buried at Olympic Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Tumwater, Thurston Co., Washington.4 She Dorine Bernice Jordan, 90, of Tumwater, passed away on December 14, 2011. She was born on April 25, 1921 to Millard and Minnie Hammond in Youngcreek, Indiana. She married the love of her life, Dale Jordan. Together they raised two children and enjoyed a loving marriage until his passing on January 20, 1989. Dorine's parents moved from Indiana to Onalaska where she grew up. During the great depression era, her Dad worked in the Onalaska mill and various logging companies. The entire family would often fish the Cowlitz river in the Salkum area. After graduating from Onalaska high school, while working in Centralia, she met Dale. They married in 1940. In 1943, Dale was drafted and served in the World War II pacific campaign. Dorine raised two small children and maintained their home. After the war, the family moved to Bremerton and then to Adna where they lived during their kids school years. Dale managed a Callisons plant in Mud Bay; Dorine,a homemaker during the day, would keep his books in the evenings. A few years later, Dale started his own business for Callisons ; Dorine managed payroll and books. And they moved to a home on Trosper road in Tumwater where they lived until Dale passed away. Not wanting to live alone, Dorine moved to Olympics West retirement home, also on Trosper road, where she lived until her death. Dorine enjoyed the staff at Olympics West and made many new friends. She was an active participant in many of their activities and especialy liked the bus trips and bingo. Dorine was a lifelong baseball fan. She watched many Adna Pirates games and loved the Mariners. She liked to watch the Mariners both in the Kingdome and on TV. She had a quick wit and and was fun-loving. Her family was most important to her and she was so appreciative of everything anyone did for her. She always thought being a Great Grandmother was such a gift. Dorine is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Rita, daughter Judi Spencer; sister Naomi Warren (her brother Clifford preceded her in death); grandchildren Larry Jordan Jr. and wife Mary, Ryan Jordan and wife Stephanie, Colby Spencer, Craig Spencer and wife Carey, Clay Spencer and wife Haley; great grandchildren Demi Jordan, Keegan Jordan, Chase Jordan, Cameron Spencer and Katelyn Spencer. Dorine was a hard worker, a great mother, and a kind and gentle person. She inspired all of us with her loving and generous spirit. She will be missed by all who knew her.1 She was born on April 25, 1921 at Youngscreek, Orange Co., Indiana.1 As of September 10, 1940,her married name was Jordan.5 She married Dale Fortunate Jordan on September 10, 1940 at Lewis Co., Washington.5,1 Dorine Bernice Hammond died on December 14, 2011 at Thurston Co., Washington, at age 90.6,1
