He was stationed in Enid, Oklahoma where he played 2nd base for the Enid Aires. While in service, he was sent to Bermuda. After serving 4 years, he moved to Henderson, Texas to play professional baseball for the Henderson Oilers. He met his wife Zada Broome here, whom he was married to for 66 years. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lester Ferguson and Grace Michaels, and his brothers, Louis and Billy Ferguson. He is survived by his brother, Herbert and wife Frances Ferguson and his sister Carolyn and husband Lonnie Donaldson. He has two sons, Tommy Ferguson and girlfriend GiGi McCoy and Jimmy and his wife Denice Ferguson. He has 5 grandsons, Louis and his wife Bonnie Ferguson, Justin and his wife Jenna Ferguson, Sean Ferguson, Evan McAdams, and Chris and his wife Kia McAdams. He has 4 great-grandchildren, Anthony Knight, Alexis Ferguson, Lane Ferguson, and Emma Ferguson. Leo enjoyed playing golf with his buddies and loved telling everyone he shot his age 435 times. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Texas City, Texas. Pallbearers will be Louis Ferguson, Justin Ferguson, Sean Ferguson, Evan McAdams, Chris McAdams and Tim Beard. Honorary pallbearer’s are Joe Vickery, Dr. John Hart, Larry Broome, Kyle Bryan, Stuart Depew and Rick Ferguson on December 30, 2014.7

Betty earned her bachelor's degree in nursing which led her to a 50 year career as a nurse working in psychiatric medicine. She enjoyed traveling and cheering on the Razorbacks. She was at the infamous 1976 orange bowl. She loved to spend time with her family and was very proud of her certified therapy dog Fred that she would take to the hospitals with her. Fred and Betty brought so much joy to the patients, their families and the staff at the hospitals. Left to cherish her memory are her children: Charles (Debbie) Allen of Newalla, Barbara "Bobi" Allen Niccum of Moore, Michael Eric (Debby) Allen of Little Rock; 8 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren; brother Richard Michael; nephews John, James and Rem; niece: Tiffany. She was preceded in death by her parents; beloved sister Jeri grandson Mitch and great-grandson Pryor.2 Her married name was Allen.1 She married Unknown Allen.1,2 Betty L.
