She loved painting carousel horses and porcelain dolls and selling the horses in Waynesville antique stores. Edie also enjoyed Duke basketball and reading autobiographies. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph King, and sisters, Peggy, Jean and Pauline. Edie is survived by her husband Robert "Bob" Thompson, daughter, Sandie Paxton and her husband Dan; granddaughter Jessica Young and her husband Ryan, and their children Cloe and Paxton, all of Barrington, Illinois; sister Naomi of Kentucky; and brothers Don Allen and his wife Carol of Xenia, and Ray Allen and his wife Ruth of Miamisburg. He is a second father and papa to many. Benny loved children and animals, sports and politics, electric guitar and telling stories. He was a teacher and coach at Steed and Parkview elementary schools before going into sales. He loved his country. He had beautiful eyes. He never met a stranger. He loved Jesus Christ and embodied grace and generosity. He spoiled us. He was amazing. Well done, good and faithful servant!
