He and his family moved from Texas to homestead in the Floyd community. He served in the US Navy from 1944 until 1946, aboard the Bordeleon in the Pacific. On August 6, 1948 in Portales, he was married to Ella Mae Betts. Glen drove a milk truck for AMPI for several years. Later he had a dairy farm, and owned a dairy equipment installation business. In 1973, Mr. Barbee sold the business due to his health, and became the Park Manager at Oasis State Park. He had been retired since 1983. He was a lifetime member of the VFW and was instrumental in the establishment of VFW Post 9515 in Portales. In 1977, he was elected as State Commander, and earned All America Honors for his service. He enjoyed fishing with his friends and family. Glen was an avid sports fan, and loved the Dallas Cowboys, the Atlanta Braves and the San Antonio Spurs. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Robin and Fred Nations of Portales; four grandchildren, Ace, Jake, Ella and Azuma Nations; two brothers, Lester (Linda) Barbee of Ojai, CA, and Troy (Susan) Barbee of Ventrua, CA; and three sisters, Mary (Richard) Sandifer of Amarillo, TX, Trelma Elliott of Moriarty, NM, and Orene Onstott of Portales. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, A. P., Ray, Roy, Chester and Clifton Barbee, a sister, Evelyn Johnson and by his wife, Ella Mae Barbee who died May 24, 2004 after more than 55 years of marriage. on November 13, 2008.³

Orene Pearl Onstott was born January 29, 1934, in Anadarko, OK to the home of Georgie (Gray) and Frank James Barbee, and died early on the morning of June 26, 2017, in Portales, NM. The Barbee family moved to a homestead in the Bethel Community in 1943. On October 13, 1951, in Portales, she was married to J. W. "Wayne" Onstott. They first made their home in Portales, but since Mr. Onstott was employed with the phone company, they were soon transferred to Farmington. In 1963 they moved to Albuquerque, and then to Raton in1971. In 1978, they made their last transfer to Santa Fe, before his retirement in 1983. At that time, they returned to Portales to live the remainder of their lives. That same year, they purchased the College Cleaners, which they operated for two years. Mrs. Onstott was an excellent homemaker and cook. She enjoyed sewing and working in her yard. She was a faithful member of the Third and Kilgore Church of Christ, and never missed Sunday services until her health prevented her in recent months. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Doyle and Cindi Onstott of Portales; another daughter-in-law, Kathy (Mrs. Garry) Onstott of Santa Fe, NM; five grandchildren, Jolene Onstott, La-Tressa Koenig, Jarred Onstott, and Daniel and Jason Larranaga; a great-granddaughter, Shelby Lynn Tafoya; a brother, Lester Barbee of Ojai, CA; and two sisters, Mary (Richard)Standifer of Canyon, TX and Trelma Elliott of Moriarty, NM. She was preceded in death by her parents; seven brothers, Troy, A. P., Ray, Roy, Chester, Clifton and Glen Barbee; a sister, Evelyn Johnson; a grandson, Greg Onstott who died November 10, 1994; a son, Garry Onstott who died January 6, 2014; and by her beloved husband, Wayne, who died January 31, 2002, after more than 50 years of marriage. on June 28, 2017.³

Ruth passed on July 4, 2018, in Waco, Texas. Mrs. Danklefs was the daughter of Charlie Bro Shipman and Cena Ollie Hall Shipman. She was adopted to George L. McDonald and Anna E. McAllister McDonald due to her mother's illness. She attended school to the 8th grade in Caddo County, Oklahoma. Virginia met and married Alfred Pershing Barbee and they moved to Portales, New Mexico and raised their three daughters, Carolyn Sue, Wanda Lou and Linda Janell. Ruth later married Paul Danklefs. In 1968 she moved to Waco, Texas, where she was a retail sales clerk and caregiver. She loved her gardens, time with family, friends and pets. She was preceded in death by both sets of parents, both husbands and daughter Wanda Lou Young, brothers Charlie and Ferlin Shipman, sister Opal Shipman Hubbard and adopted sisters Grace Harris Snyder and Ola Harris Updegrove. Virginia is survived by daughters Carolyn Sue Brown and Linda and husband Darrell Wilhite, four Grandchildren, seven Great Grandchildren, two step Grandchildren and even great great Grandchildren. Ruth's special friends were Frank and Stella Slaughter. She loved her God. She loved her Girls. She loved her father. She sacrificed everything to give them a roof over their heads whenever they came to her in need. She loved her flower garden, but did vegetable gardening, and canning to keep food on the table no matter how humble. He 8th grade education and hard work was all she could depend on to get her bills paid. From selling donuts, to helping a handicapped man and house cleaning for his wife, scrubbing floors, waitressing, even planting acres of sweet potatoes seedling from the back of the tractor pulling machine. She worked in a drug Store and a Donut Store in North Waco, Texas. Ruth worked at whatever jobs she could find and even ironing by the piece, so birthday and Christmas gifts were not forgotten for her girls and grandchildren. Favorite verse: Psalms 23, The Lord is My Shepherd.
