She had been an invalid for several years, had only six weeks ago moved here from Corydon, Ia., to reside with her daughter. Born May 8, 1883, in Appanoose county, Iowa, daughter ot Frank and Ida McKern, she lived there most of her youth, marrying John Robinson in March, 1902, at home. They had lived at Corydon, Ia., since marriage. He preceded her in death 10 months ago. Surviving are one son, Gerald C. Corydon; three daughters, Miss Marie Robinson, Corydon, Mrs. F. M. Portner, Pasco, Wash., and Mrs. Sanders; and seven grandchildren. The body will be taken Monday night from Parrott & Wood funeral home here to Corydon, Ia., for funeral and burial. on November 26, 1945.⁴ She died on November 26, 1945 at Waterloo, Black Hawk Co., Iowa, at age 62.⁴

     Elsie Mae McKern Elsie Mae Wales, 81, Albia resident at 52-10th Avenue West, was taken by death Tuesday, September 29, 1970, at Hackensack, Minnesota. She was born in Appanoose County, February 5, 1889, to Francis and Ida McKern. Her marriae to Benjamin Wales took place December 18, 1916 in the Centerville Methodist Parsonage and they lived in both Appanoose County and Monroe Counties. Mrs Wales was a member of the Methodist Church and VFW Auxiliary. Surviving are a son, John of Albia; three daughters, Eudora Dutemple, Albia, Joan Bates, Mystic, Mary Masten, Hackensack, Minnesota; 10 grandchildren; one great-grandchild. Her parents, husband, two infant twin daughters, four brothers, and three sisters, one of whom was a twin, preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at Downs Funeral Home in Albia, with Reverend Jerry Brown of the Methodist Church officiating.
