Survivors include her long-time companion, "Cobb" Phillips of Fort Madison; one sister, Gloria Ruth Westermeyer of Fort Madison; two brothers, Raymond and George Thompson, both of Fort Madison; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son and one sister. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday at King-Lynk Funeral Home in Fort Madison. The graveside service for Ms. Branch will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in Oakland Cemetery in Fort Madison. A memorial has been established. on July 19, 2000.4

John Edward Pickens Funeral services for John E. Pickens, 71, Donnellson RR2, will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Nieters Chapel. The Rev. Thomas Cole will officiate. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. Mr. Pickens died at 1 p.m. Sunday January, 28 in Memorial Hospital, Topeka Kansas. He had been ill one month. He was born May 1, 1901 in Bible Grove Missouri. He had lived in Fort Madison 39 years and was retired bridge and building carpenter for the Santa Fe Railroad. On July 1, 1926, at Marceline Missouri, he married Opal Jones, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Robert Pickens, Norfolk, Virginia and John Pickens, Anchorage, Alaska; a brother, Samuel Pickens, Edina, Missouri; and three grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. He was preceded in death by his first wife, a daughter who died in infancy, four brothers and a sister. His parents were Allen and Molly Wales Pickens. The family will meet at Nieters from 7 to 8 this evening.2 He was buried at Oakland Cemetery, 4025 Avenue O, Fort Madison, Lee Co., Iowa.2 He was born on May 1, 1901 at Bible Grove, Scott Co., Missouri.2 He married Anna Neoma Curl, daughter of George Washington Curl and Mary Elizabeth McKern, on February 2, 1918 at Lee Co., Iowa.1,3 John Edward Pickens died on January 28, 1973 at Topeka, Shawnee Co., Kansas, at age 71.2
