B. Parsons had passed away during the night. It had been known for several days that she was seriously ill but seemed to be somewhat improved until Thursday morning she was taken suddenly worse, and while everything within the power of physicians was done death came to relieve her suffering at eleven o'clock Thursday night. Ethel Giesler was born at Payette, Idaho, September 22nd, 1895; departed this life at her home on Sixth street, Payette, Idaho, August 15th, 1918, at the age of 22 years, 10 months and 24 days. She was a graduate from the Payette high school in 1914, went to Caldwell, Idaho, in May 1915 and faithfully filled the position as deputy recorder for three years. She was united in marriage to G. B. Parsons, August 4th, 1917, and moved with her husband to Payette but a few weeks ago. Ethel was a girl loved by all who knew her. She became a member of the Baptist church at Payette when at the age of 15, where she held her membership at the time of her death. Having lived in Payette the greater part of her life and being of a lovable disposition, had a host of friends who with her husband, father and mother, brother and sisters will deeply feel the loss by her early departure while in the bloom of life. Besides a young husband, she leaves a father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Giesler, six sisters, Mrs. Carey Tussing and Mrs. Frank Stowell of Fruitland, Mrs. Arthur Orcutt of Cascade, Cecile, Margarete and Anna of Payette, and one brother, John C. Giesler Jr. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon conducted by Rev. Burtch of Fruitland where many friends from both this community and Caldwell gathered to pay the last tribute of respect which was manifested by the most beautiful floral offerings. Interment was made in the Riverside cemetery. on August 22, 1918.⁴

She was a published writer and for many years wrote a weekly column for the Filer Citizen Record. Her husband, Cecil, and her daughter, Judith Anne and son-in-law, Joe Fix, preceded her in death. She is survived by her daughters, Gerry B. Gailen Soule and Linda Fix; 5 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Special thanks to the staff of Summer Wind Retirement Center and XL Hospice for treating Mom with respect and love. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Filer Methodist Church or charity of your choice. Graveside services will be held at Sunset Memorial Park in Twin Falls, Idaho on Thursday, July 3, 2003, at 3 p.m. Guests are invited to a celebration of Mom's life immediately following the service at 612 Aspenwood Lane, Twin Falls. Frank was born and raised in Fruitland, Idaho, the town named by his grandfather B.F. Tussing in 1904 who also named the popular apple grown locally as the "Delicious" in 1910. Following graduation from Fruitland High School, Frank studied engineering at the University of Idaho. Following the Japanese attack at Pearl Harbor he joined the U.S. Navy in 1942 and served on the aircraft carrier Shamrock Bay until the end of the war in 1945. After the war Frank worked with Goodman Oil Company in Boise, McCall and Lewiston until he retired in 1975. Wherever he lived, Frank always loved hunting, fishing and exploring the rivers and mountains, especially in Idaho. In the 1960s and 1970s he took time to personally introduce a number of celebrities and government officials to the beauty of Hells Canyon and the lower Snake River. Frank was preceded in death by his parents Cary and Cordelia Tussing, his sister Helen Peterson, and his former wife Louise Lillard Tussing. Frank is survived by his daughter Frances Maza of Emmett, and his sons Frank Tussing of Las Vegas, Nev., and Larry Tussing of Newberg, Ore., and his long-time loving companion Arloine Howard of Boise. His cheerful smile, lovable personality and sharp intellect will be dearly missed by his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and countless friends. on January 22, 2008.³

Larry Dean Tussing was born Aug. 11, 1941, in Excelsior, Minn. He graduated from Whitworth College in Spokane and worked in real estate development. He farmed in eastern Washington and coached youth sports teams in baseball and basketball. He moved to Newberg in 1992. He married Gail Ann Bolin. Survivors include his wife; daughter, Barbara L; sons, David R. and Steven R; stepson, Richard R. Moore; brother, Frank; sister, Fran; and four grandchildren. Remembrances to the church. Arrangements by Springer and Son. on June 25, 2008.²

     Leonard Elbert Orcutt was buried at Saint Marys Cemetery, 4529 Howe Street, Oakland, Alameda Co., California.⁵ He was born on May 5, 1916 at Canyon Co., Idaho.^3,5 He married Esther Maude Crestetto on November 20, 1938 at Alameda Co., California.² Leonard Elbert Orcutt died on April 3, 1945 at Consolacion, Philippines, at age 28.^6,5 He On April 3, 1945, Orcutt and his crew took off in their B-25J Mitchell bomber from Palawan Field, Philippines. The pilot of another aircraft in the flight reported seeing Orcutt's plane stall out and crash about one mile northeast of the village of Consolacion in a swampy area. There were no survivors. In early 1947, personnel from the Army's Graves Registration Service recovered additional remains from the crash site and buried them as unknowns in Leyte, Philippines. Later that year, they were exhumed and transferred to Manila for possible identification. In 1949, a military review board declared these unknown group remains to be those of the aircrew and re-buried them at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Mo. Two years later, the Graves Registration Service returned to the crash site and recovered additional remains. The case was reanalyzed and a recommendation was made that the group remains at Jefferson Barracks be disinterred for individual identification. All remains from the crash site were examined with no resulting identification. They were reburied at the same location. A sister of one of the airmen contacted the Army in 2001 upon learning of the recovery of additional remains in the 1950s. The Army then disinterred the group remains at Jefferson Barracks in 2008 which were taken to the Joint POW/MIA Accounting Command (JPAC) in Hawaii for identification. on June 22, 2011.⁶
