Glenn Allen Giesler was buried at Meridian Cemetery, Meridian, Ada Co., Idaho.2,3 He was born on June 25, 1929 at Portland, Multnomah Co., Oregon.2,3 He married Denise Irene Davis on August 15, 1949 at Winnemucca, Humboldt Co., Nevada.2,6 Glenn Allen Giesler died on October 11, 2015 at Meridian, Ada Co., Idaho, at age 86.2,3 He Glenn Allen Giesler, 86, peacefully passed away Sunday, October 11, 2015 at his home in Meridian, ID, after a brief illness. He was born in Portland, OR, to Mildred Lillian (Poorman) and John Chester Giesler, June 25th, 1929. At birth, the attending doctor did not expect Glenn to survive; however, his determined father resuscitated him, until he began breathing on his own. His young life was spent in the Fruitland-Payette area, becoming an avid fisherman and hunter. This was the beginning of a lifelong love of the outdoors: camping, water skiing, and boating. Attending Fruitland High School, he played football, participated in several clubs, and met his lifelong love Denise Davis. With dear friends, they swam the Snake River, attended picnics, and rode his Indian motorcycle all around town. Shortly after graduation, Glenn and Denise eloped to Winnemucca, NV, starting 65 years of marriage. To this union, Glenn's four children were born. He passed on his love of nature and spending time in the woods. Early on, Glenn and Denise, along with their firstborn son, moved to the remote town of Stibnite, ID where he worked in the mine for a year. After trying out farming, which he did not care for, Glenn found his calling as a truck driver for Kings Packing Company (later becoming Armour Trucking) in Nampa, ID. He served 35 years and achieved two Safe Driving Awards: one from Armour and one from Yellow Trucking were he finished his professional career. Realizing the need for something to occupy his extra time in retirement, he opened Glenn's Radiator Service. After a few years, he closed the shop; he and Denise sold their Meridian home and moved to their dream home on Bunch Drive in Crouch, ID. Here Glenn spent more time visiting with friends on the mountain, tinkering in his shop, cutting firewood, and earning the name Mr. Fix-It from the locals. Glenn's final and beloved job was as a snowmobile groomer operator for the Garden Valley Snowmobile Club. In 1997, he was awarded the Snowmobile Groomer Operator of the Year by the Idaho State Snowmobile Association. The groomer was later renamed the Glenn Dean after Glenn and Denise for their dedication to the sport of the snowmobiling. After many years enjoying their home on the mountain, Glenn and Denise moved back to Meridian. Glenn is survived by his sister Donna Clancy; his sons and daughters: Robert (Amy) Giesler, Kathy (Jim) Bell, Dianne Murphy and John Giesler; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Denise, his brother Calvin Giesler, two sisters: Doris Pollentier and JoAnn Berry, and his son-in-law Alfred Murphy. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, October 16, 2015 in the Chapel of Cloverdale Funeral Home. Interment will immediately follow the service at Meridian Cemetery. on October 14, 2015.2

Denise was born on December 27, 1930 in Wheatland, Wyoming to George & Juanita Davis. As a small child, Denise and her younger siblings; Carole & Gary moved to Idaho where she began school at Little Willow Creek in Payette. While attending Fruitland High School, Denise enjoyed being a cheerleader and was very active in highschool clubs & social events. One of her proudest school moments was being chosen by the American Legion Auxiliary to attend Girls State. She was a social butterfly, but always made time for her highschool sweetheart, Glenn. The two of them enjoyed attending all the social events of the town together, many of which ended up in the local paper. Denise worked in the fruit packing sheds & cannery, however her passion was helping in the nursery at The Holy Rosary Hospital in Ontario. Upon graduation, Glenn & Denise eloped to Winnemucca, Nevada where they began their 65 blessed years together. In 1951, the new family moved to Stibnite, Idaho for a year. They returned to Meridian where Denise raised their 4 children and started her career at Meridian Insurance. She was a member of the Rebekah Assembly of Idaho receiving recognition in 2014 for her 50 years of membership. Upon retirement, Denise & Glenn headed to their summer home on Bunch Drive in Garden Valley where she was very instrumental in the development of the new Senior Center in Crouch. While the mountains were a special place for her, the ocean held her heart. Anytime she was close to the ocean, a side trip was in order. She didn't care if it was for only a brief moment, she just wanted to see the ocean. Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband, Glenn; her four children, Robert & Amy Giesler, Kathy & Jim Bell, Dianne Murphy and John Giesler; seven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; her sister, Carole Fivecoat and her brother Gary Davis; sister-in-law's, Donna Clancy & Mary Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents, George & Juanita Davis, and her son-in-law, Al Murphy. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 18th at 2:30pm at the Cloverdale Funeral Home in Boise, ID. A graveside service will follow the funeral at Meridian Cemetery. on May 15, 2015.2
