     Robert Burwell Bower was buried at Sherwood Burial Park, 1045 Lynchburg Turnpike, Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.⁴ He was born on May 14, 1937 at West Virginia.⁵ He married Brenda Joyce Blevins on July 3, 1959 at Alleghany Co., North Carolina.¹ Robert Burwell Bower died on February 23, 2011 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia, at age 73.^3,5,4 He Robert B. "Bob" Bower, of Salem, Va., died on Wednesday, February 23, 2011, at the Lewis-Gale Medical Center where he was the Chief Construction Engineer in 1972 and remained with the hospital until he left in 1993 to form Commonwealth Inspector's Services. He graduated from Greenbrier Military School, University of Maryland, and attended Virginia Commonwealth University and Roanoke College. He enjoyed membership in Central United Methodist Men, the Salem Kiwanis Club, and the Greenbrier Military Alumni Association. He will be remembered for his involvement in Relay For Life (the hot dog stand), and roasting chestnuts for the Olde Salem Christmas and the Community Christmas Store. He was preceded in death by his parents, Custis and Ruby Bower; and in-laws, the Reverend Frank and Frances Blevins. His surviving family includes his wife, Brenda B. Bower; son, Christopher B. Bower; sister, Mary B. Lotts; brothers-in-law, Frank O. Blevins and wife, Ann, and Ronald G. Blevins and wife, Linda; nephews, Andrew Blevins and wife, Laurie, Ryan Blevins and wife, Michelle, Kevin L. Lotts and wife, Tonya; nieces, Kelly Pittman and husband, Eric, and Kim Janney and husband, Sean; great nieces; a great-nephew; numerous cousins; special friends; Lewis-Gale co-workers; and his General Imports family, who called him "Pops." And, lest we not forget his love for his dogs. A family visitation with a brunch will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2011, from 10 a.m. until noon at the Central United Methodist Church, 428 S. College Ave., Salem, V 24153. The Celebration of Bob's life will begin at noon in the sanctuary. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. The Rev. Kristin Holbrook will officiate. He was a member of Bonsack Baptist Church and was a former employee for Federal Express. Surviving are his wife, Brenda Fulcher Lugar; a son, Bryce Spencer Lugar; his daughters, Amanda Megan Lugar, Sarah Beth Lugar, all of the home; his father, Eugene B. Lugar, Silver Springs, Md; his mother, Rhoda B. Woodson, Roanoke; a stepbrother, Randy Woodson, Raleigh, N.C; a stepsister, Donna Woodson, Roanoke; his grandmother, Virginia Bower, Roanoke. Funeral services will be held at Bonsack Baptist Church, Monday, September 14, 1:00 p.m. with Dr. Robert G. Moore, III officiating. Interment will be in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens. on September 12, 1992.²

     Deborah Katherine Saunders was buried at Sherwood Burial Park, 1045 Lynchburg Turnpike, Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.² She was born on June 14, 1956 at Roanoke, Virginia.² She died on December 24, 1977 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 21; Died in an auto accident.²

     Jeffrey Grant Saunders was born on May 23, 1958 at Roanoke, Virginia.^2,3,6,4 He married Anna Marie Adams on August 26, 1978 at Roanoke, Virginia.² Jeffrey Grant Saunders died on December 10, 2012 at Virginia at age 54.^6,4 He Mr. Jeffrey Grant Saunders, 54, of Roanoke passed away on Monday, December 10, 2012. Jeff was born on May 23, 1958, in Roanoke and was a graduate of Patrick Henry High School. He was preceded in death by his father, Obel Jack Saunders; mother, Anne Bower Saunders; and sister Deborah Saunders. Surviving are his daughter, Lindsay Saunders; son, Jeremy Saunders; grandchildren, Devon Saunders and Elia Saunders; wife, Anne Saunders; and sister, Jacquelyn Newell. A memorial service will be held at a later time. Arrangements by Serenity Funeral Home and Cremation Service. on December 13, 2012.⁴

     William Eugene Anderson Jr. William (Bill / Billy) Eugene Anderson, Jr., age 67, of Roanoke, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2020. Bill was born on December 16, 1952 in Welch, WV at Grace Hospital to William (Bill) Anderson, Sr. and Violet (Libby) Anderson. He is preceded in death by his father. Bill is survived by his children Michael Anderson and Avari (Greg) Terry of Roanoke; grandson, Aiden Terry, of Roanoke; mother, Libby Anderson, of Roanoke; brother, David (Desarie) Anderson, of Atlanta, GA; sister, Dianne (Michael) Hurt, of CA; and sister, Nancy (Darrian) Speese-Cole, of Roanoke. He is also survived by several nephews and nieces; uncle, Lonnie (Faye) Cash of Vesuvius, VA; uncle, Rev. Warren Cash of Roanoke; uncle, Pat Cash of Raphine, VA; and uncle, Rev. Don (Shirley) Cash of Raphine, VA and uncle, Robert Anderson of WV. Bill graduated from William Fleming High School in 1970 and was a member of the ROTC. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force and proudly served his country. He was well known throughout the Roanoke, Stuarts Draft, Vesuvius, and Waynesboro areas for his excellent work in Heating and Air Conditioning. He loved camping, fishing, hiking, and riding a good motorcycle. Bill will be cremated, and his ashes will make their way to the James River he loved so dearly. No formal service is planned, per his request. He will be missed by his family and friends. We wish to thank everyone for your kind words and prayers.² He was born on December 16, 1952 at Welch, McDowell Co., West Virginia.^1,2 He married Jacquelyn Anne Saunders, daughter of Obel Jackson Saunders and Elizabeth Anne Bower, on June 20, 1970 at Chesterfield Co., South Carolina.¹ William Eugene Anderson Jr. and Jacquelyn Anne Saunders were divorced on March 31, 1982.³ William Eugene Anderson Jr. died on November 7, 2020 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 67.²
