On September 18, 1959, in Walkerton, IN, he was married to the former Myrna Holsinger, who survives. Also surviving are their children, Tammy (Haze) Pulluaim, Tom (Connie) Stull, Ted (Kim) Stull and David (Tori) Stull; 13 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Carol Foster; and one brother, Rex Stull. He was preceded in death by his parents. Lynn was retired from Deluxe Sheet Metal, South Bend, where he worked for 26 years. He was a 1958 graduate of Tyner High School and was committed to the Polk Township and Tyner community. Lynn was a former John Glenn School Board member for 12 years, a lifetime member of the IOOF Lodge #821 of Tyner, and he was the Polk Township Trustee and former advisory board member. Lynn was a member of the Blissville Church of the Brethren, serving as a deacon of the church. He was a Little League Baseball coach when his sons played and enjoyed watching his grandchildren's games and activities. Lynn grew up on the family farm and continued farming during his lifetime. He was an avid Cubs fan and was very happy to witness the Cubs World Series Championship. He also enjoyed his weekly golf and card games with his buddies. Burial will follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Walkerton. on August 22, 2017.²

     Edward Farmer Germain Newport News, Va. - When a storyteller dies, he becomes legend. Edward Farmer Germain, 93, became a legend on February 3, 2018. He was born December 28, 1924, in Glen Cove, NY, to George and Maud Germain. Music was central to his life, playing clarinet and banjo in the "family band," longing for arms long enough to play trombone, and sneaking in to watch a Frank Sinatra concert. Edward graduated from Glen Cove High School in 1943 with highest marks from the New York State Board of Education. He later joined the Army Air Corp, serving overseas as a bombardier navigator. In the Air Force his love for flying made way for an interest in the fields of physics and engineering. In 1958, he graduated from The College of William & Mary with a Bachelor of Science in Physics, and continued his studies at Old Dominion University receiving a Master of Engineering in 1971. For 37 years, he worked at NASA Langley Research Center as an engineer, specializing in thermocouples. He counted his work on the X-1 5 Rocket Plane as one of his proudest achievements, a program which contributed to the development of the Mercury, Gemini, Apollo and Space Shuttle manned spaceflight programs. His initials can be found on the X-15 now part of the collection at the Smithsonian Institute's National Air & Space Museum. Edward Germain was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church, attending Grace Methodist and then Noland Memorial United Methodist Church in Newport News, and finally First United Methodist in Hilton. He sang tenor in the church choir, and he was active in the Methodist Men and the Three Rivers Men Chorus. He loved watching athletic events, from the Tribe football and basketball games, to his grandchildren's swim meets, baseball, field hockey, and soccer games. He cherished God and family above all else. Edward was predeceased by his brother Alfred Germain. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Virginia Arline Germain (nee Dickinson); his sister Connie Navesky (John); daughters Susan Pongratz (George) and Marian Germain (Greg O'Berry); four grandchildren, including Paul Pongratz (Michelle), Ben Pongratz (Norma Dawn), Joshua Fulton (Sarah), and Elizabeth Jackson (Jack); and six great-grandchildren Lily Pongratz, Ashton Pongratz, Hunter Fulton, Parker Pongratz, Shane Fulton, and Meredith Jackson. Mrs. Clark was born Sept. 6, 1914, at Roderfield, W.Va., to the late Lewis K. and Alberta Neeley Dickinson. She graduated from Welch High School, Hiwasee College in Tennessee and Concord College in Athens. Mrs. Clark was a retired elementary school teacher, having taught for 42 years in Newport News, Va., McDowell and Raleigh Counties. She was a member of the Surveyor United Methodist Church and also attended church at the Stover Church of Christ. She was a member of the Retired Teachers' Association and enjoyed her association with seniors at the Shepherd Center. Many family members and friends are recipients of her embroidered, crocheted or hand-sewn items. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Homer Willard Clark; two infant sons; and brothers, William, Walter, John and Kell. Survivors include her daughter, Sue Clark Remaley and husband, Paul, of Twin Falls, Idaho, and her son, Robert William Clark of Surveyor. Grandchildren include Dr. Sherawn Remaley Reberry and husband, Brian, of Boise, Idaho; Dr. Trey Remaley and wife, Angela, of Perrysburg, Ohio, and SST Derek Remaley, United States Army, Boise. Great-grandchildren are: Kelsy Rian Merritt, Boise, Tylah Alexandra and Madison Marie Remaley, Perrysburg. A loving sister, Arlene Germain and husband, Edward, and families reside in Newport News, Va. A special niece, Patricia Wriston and husband, Wayne, and family live in Oak Hill. The family would like to thank the staff at Hilltop Center for the kind and compassionate attention given to Lillian during her stay there. Mr. Dickinson was born November 5, 1916 in Roderfield, West Virginia, first son of the late Lewis Keller Dickinson Alberta O'Neal Dickinson. His English forebears migrated to Virginia before the Revolutionary War, and his Irish forebears migrated to Virginia in the 1800's. He graduated from Shenandoah Junior College and then attended the University of West Virginia, but when his father was injured in a mining accident, he left school before graduating to help provide for his five brothers and sisters. He entered the U.S. Air Force in November 1941 and served in an anti-aircraft battalion in the Pacific Theater. He then volunteered to serve in the European Theater where he flew approximately 15 air missions over Germany as a radio operator on a B-17. After the war, Mr. Dickinson began his career in sales with the Hoover Company and quickly moved into a sales manager's position. He next served as District Sales Manager of the Maytag Company for 15 years before taking a position of Sales Manager with Southern Radio in Charlotte. After his retirement from Southern Radio, the family opened John's Appliance Company in Charlotte. Mr. Dickinson is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy Guerrant Dickinson, sons John Dickinson and Thomas Dickinson, daughters Nancy Brooks and Donna Dickinson, brothers John Dickinson and Keller Dickinson, sisters Arline Germaine and Lillian Clark, and seven grandchildren. Mr. Dickinson was a Navy veteran of World War II and retired as a program manager of Department 034 Advanced Technology at Newport News Shipbuilding in 1984 after 45 years service. Survivors include his wife, Virginia M. Dickinson; a daughter, Charlotte Ann Dickinson Barker of Newport News; two sisters, Lillian Clark of Glenn Daniel, W.Va., and Arline Gormain of Newport News; three brothers, William S. Dickinson of Charlotte, N.C., John F. Dickinson of Moneta and Lewis Keller Dickinson Jr. of Hampton; and one grandchild. Burial with Masonic rites will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park. on June 24, 1989.²
