     Katherine Mae “Rennie” Walker Katherine Mae "Rennie" Mawyer, 88, of Fishersville, passed away on Sunday March 24, 2013 at Shenandoah Nursing Home. Mrs. Mawyer was born on December 4, 1924 in Nelson County, VA and was a daughter of the late Frank and Mabel (Gowen) Martin. She retired from Genesco with 32 years of service. Rennie was a longtime member of Fishersville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing. Rennie was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to many who will greatly miss her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Granville Page Mawyer on March 23, 2002. Mrs. Mawyer is survived by two sons, Gary Wayne Mawyer and wife Martha of Fishersville, Richard Page Mawyer and wife Frances of Fishersville; two daughters, Mary Ellen Wiseman and husband Linwood of Fishersville, Dolores Forsyth and husband Clarence of Swoope; two sisters, Mickey Varner of Staunton and Joyce Tyree of Schuylar, VA; twelve grandchildren; thirty great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters. Burial will follow at Augusta Memorial Park. Active pall bearers for the service will be G.W. Wiseman, Cameron Mawyer, Chad Mawyer, C.T. Mawyer, Jeff Mawyer and Stevie Mawyer. The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the nurses and all the aides of Shenandoah Nursing Home for taking such good care of their Mom during her stay there.1 She was buried at Augusta Memorial Park, 1775 Goose Creek Road, Waynesboro, Augusta Co., Virginia.1,5 Her Social Security Number was 198-20-9050.6 She was born on December 4, 1924 at Nelson Co., Virginia.1,6,7 As of April 20, 1942,her married name was Mawyer.2 She married Granville Page Mawyer on April 20, 1942 at Waynesboro, Augusta Co., Virginia.1,2 Katherine Mae “Rennie” Walker died on March 24, 2013 at Fishersville, Augusta Co., Virginia, at age 88.1,6
