     Leota Mary Holt Mrs. Leota Standage, 59, died Wednesday afternoon at the Clarinda Municipal Hospital following a heart attack she had suffered a week ago. She had been hospitalized since Friday. Mrs. Standage was born March 12, 1899, at Greeneville, Tenn., the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William W. Holt. When she was about 2 1/2 years old, the family moved to Clarinda, where she spent the remainder of her life. Mrs. Standage was a member of the First Christain Church and had been active in the Church circles. She was a receptionist at the Clarinda Municipal Hospital. She is survived by a son, H. William Standage of Omaha, Neb; a daughter, Mrs. Keith (Arlene) Chasteen of Kansas City, Kan; a brother, Russell Holt, and a sister, Mrs. May Miller, both of Clarinda; and seven grandchildren. The funeral service will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Foster-Williams Mortuary. The Rev. Ralph G. Allen, pastor of the First Christian Church, will officiate. Interment will be in the Clarinda Cemetery. John Clark and Pastor Dean Delzell officiating. Visitation with the family was held 6-8 p.m., Sunday, April 29, 2007 at the church. Interment was held in the Clarinda Cemetery, Clarinda, Iowa. Memorials may be directed to the First Christian Church or to the Clarinda Fire and Rescue. Arrangements were entrusted to the Ritchie Funeral Service of Clarinda, Iowa. Merrill Russell Miller was born July 25, 1920, in Page Center, Iowa, the son of Ralph A. Miller and Ida Mae (Holt) Miller. Merrill attended Braddyville and Clarinda Schools. On June 2, 1941, he was united in marriage with Angelene (Angie) Magdalene Cooley at Kansas City, Kansas. They were blessed with two children, Lois and Mick. Merrill worked for several years for Loren and Mildred Davison at Walker Funeral Home assisting with ambulance and funeral services and often was the soloist for the funeral services. When the Davisons and Merrill and Angie retired they took many motorcycle trips together. For many years, Merrill was storeroom manager at the Mental Health Institute and retired from that position. Merrill also enjoyed doing mechanical repairs as well as small engine repairs. Merrill enjoyed being a Ham Radio operator for several years and was a weather observer for KMTV. Many people listened to Merrill and his Ham Radio friends discussing the weather, especially during the periods of severe weather. Merrill enjoyed many outdoor activities including hunting and fishing. His family was most important to him and he enjoyed being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Left to cherish Merrill’s memory are his wife Angie Miller of Clarinda, Iowa; daughter, Lois Glick and husband Lowell of Clarinda, Iowa; son, Mick Miller and wife Carolyn of New Market, Iowa; grandchildren, Doug Glick of Clarinda, Iowa, Greg Glick and fiancé Angie of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Jay Glick of Carroll, Iowa, Tiffany Delzell and husband Dean of Jefferson, Iowa, Brad Miller and wife Nikki of Earlham, Iowa; nine great grandchildren; and sister, Marjorie Creveling of Clarinda, Iowa. Preceding Merrill in death were his parents and brother-in-law, Sid Creveling. Visitation with the family was held 5-7 p.m., Tuesday April 21 at the funeral home. Burial was in the Clarinda Cemetery. Memorials can be directed to Parkinson's Research Foundation. Marjorie Creveling was born December 10, 1921 in Clarinda, IA. She was the daughter of Ralph A. Miller and Ida Mae (Holt) Miller. Marge grew up in Clarinda. She later moved with her family to Council Bluffs, Iowa where she graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School. Following her high school graduation, she attended two years of secretarial school in Kansas City, MO. On September 19, 1943, she was united in marriage to Sidney L. Creveling. They were blessed with a son, Russell (Rusty). Sid and Marge lived and farmed in Clarinda. Marge worked as a secretary for the Superintendent of the Clarinda Mental Health Institute for seventeen years. Marge was a member of the First Christian Church and the Sarah Circle. She and Sid enjoyed many years dancing with the Circle 8 Square Dance Club. Marge enjoyed crocheting, knitting, gardening, cooking, playing cards, traveling, Cubs baseball and animals. Family was most important to her and she always looked forward to their visits. Left to cherish her memory is her son, Rusty and wife Janis of Manchester, IA; grandchildren, Ronda Graybill and husband Kevin of Manchester, Iowa, Brian Creveling of Manchester, Iowa, Holly Creveling of Waterloo, Iowa; great grandchildren, Danielle, Kait, and Jared Graybill, Elizabeth Creveling and Alexandar Mesinovic. Preceding Marge in death were her parents; husband, Sidney Creveling; her brother and sister-in-law, Merrill and Angie Miller. Although Marge will be greatly missed, her love and inspiration will live on through her family.      Her married name was Chasteen.1 Arlene Faye Standage married Keith Chasteen.1,4 Arlene Faye Standage and Keith Chasteen were divorced.4 Arlene Faye Standage was born on July 1, 1925 at Omaha, Douglas Co., Nebraska.4 As of 1961,her married name was Schmidt.4 She married Jay D. Schmidt in 1961.4 Arlene Faye Standage died on August 4, 2005 at Santa Clarita, Los Angeles Co., California, at age 80.4 She Arlene F. (Standage) Schmidt passed from this earth on August 4 in Santa Clarita, Calif., at the age of 80. She was born in Omaha, Neb., July 1, 1925, and adopted at birth by Howard H. and Mary Leota Standage of Clarinda, Iowa, where she was raised. She graduated from Clarinda High School and moved to Kansas City at eighteen to begin nurse's training. It was there she met and married Keith Chasteen. They divorced after fifteen years and four children. She remarried in 1961 to Jay D. Schmidt and had two more children. During her eighty years on earth, she worked as a dance instructor, day care operator, manager in the garment industry, and ended her working career at Johnson Controls as a lab technician at the plastics facility in Lenexa, Kan. She lived in Kansas City for most of her adult life, moving to Camdenton thirteen years ago when she retired. She leaves her six children, Keith Chasteen and wife, Janet, of Prairie Village, Kan., Diane Stodghill and husband, Bob, of Houston, Tex., Marcia Ann Kynion of Springfield, Mary Lu Chasteen of Los Angeles, Michael Schmidt and wife, Jennifer, of Camdenton, and Michelle Edmondson and husband, Brett, of Santa Clarita, Calif. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, William; son-in-law, Clark Kynion; and grandson, Brent Chasteen. Arlene enjoyed her family most of all and was happiest when quilting, gardening, and taking care of her family. In addition to her six children, she is also survived by eighteen beloved grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren. A private memorial service and celebration of her life will be held on August 11, 1 p.m., at the Hedges Funeral Home, Hwy 5 south, Camdenton, Mo. on August 5, 2005.4

     Angelene Magdalene "Angie" Cooley Funeral services for Angelene “Angie” Miller, age 91 of Clarinda, Iowa, who died Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at Goldenrod Manor, Clarinda, Iowa were held Friday, October 5, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Christian Church, Clarinda, Iowa with Reverend John Clark officiating and Pastor Dean Delzell giving a meditation. Visitation with the family was held 7-8 p.m., Thursday, October 4, 2207 at the church. Burial was in the Clarinda Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the First Christian Church or to KRSS radio station. Arrangements were entrusted to the Ritchie Funeral Service of Clarinda, Iowa. Angelene Magdalene (Cooley) Miller was born July 31, 1916 in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of William Cooley and Clara (Teuksbre) Cooley. Angie grew up in the Kansas City area, attending Kansas City schools and was a high school graduate. She attended Kansas State Dental College graduating as a dental hygienist. Angie and Merrill Miller were united in marriage on June 2, 1941 in Kansas City, Kansas. They were blessed with two children; Lois and Mick. Angie was a dental hygienist for Dr. Harlan Bradrick for several years. She then worked as an EEG and X-Ray Technician at the Clarinda Mental Health Institute. She retired from that position in 1981. Angie and Merrill enjoyed being ham radio operators. They also enjoyed going on motorcycle trips together and camping especially at Branson, Missouri. Angie’s main interest was her family, they were very important to her and she especially enjoyed the grandchildren and great grandchildren. After church, the family always enjoyed Grandma’s Sunday dinners. Angie was a member of the First Christian Church. Left to cherish Angie’s memory are her children, Lois Glick and husband Lowell of Clarinda, Iowa and Mick Miller and wife Carolyn of New Market, Iowa; grandchildren, Brad Miller and wife Nikki of Earlham, Iowa, Tiffany Delzell and husband Dean of Jefferson, Iowa, Doug Glick of Clarinda, Iowa, Greg Glick and wife Angie of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Jay Glick and fiancé Michelle of Carroll, Iowa, great grandchildren, Mikayla, Caleb and Maddie Jo Delzell, Becca, Joshua and Josiah Miller, Aaron, Amber and Ethan Glick; Justin and Brianna Mau; sister-in-law, Marjorie Creveling of Clarinda, Iowa; nephew, Rusty Creveling and wife Janis of Manchester, Iowa. Preceding Angie in death were her parents; husband, Merrill Miller (04/27/2007); sister, Wilma Ryburn.
