Dock was born Nov. 29, 1955, in Ashland, Ky., a son of the late William and Jo Ella Banks Newsome. He was a transport driver with the Carl Fannin Co., of the Baptist faith and a member of the Outcast Offroad Club. He served with the U.S. Marines during the Vietnam War and lost a brother, Kenneth Newsome, in in Vietnam in 1969. Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Kenneth Newsome and wife Ranzi of Rush, Ky; two daughters, Heather Keeton and husband Josh of Westwood and Alisha Horner and husband Ron of Ashland; a brother, Mike Pickett of Ashland; and three grandchildren, Andrew, Aliyah and Kenzi. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 26, 2010, at Ashland Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel by the Rev. Randy Patrick. Arrangements are under the direction of Preston Family Funeral Home in Ashland. on March 25, 2010.3

Mr. Martin attended Beckham United Methodist Church. He was the owner and operator of Martin’s Sales Agency for over 40 years. Mr. Martin was a member of the Fontaine Ruritan Club for 53 years and served in the past as district Governor and Lt. Governor of the Dan River district. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Paul B. Martin.
