Survivors include: Her Husband, Charles Shaffer of Victoria; her mother; Sons, Benson Shaffer of Victoria and David Lee Shaffer of New York State; Daughters, Melissa Serrano and husband Timothy of Victoria and Donna Smolder of Charleston, WV; Brother, Vic Salinas of Victoria; Sisters, Delia Young of Victoria and Vivian May of Beverly Hills, CA; Seven Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by Her father, T.V. Salinas. Visitation will be held Monday, August 2, 2004, from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Colonial Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, August 3, 2004, at 10:00 a.m. at Colonial Funeral Chapel. Interment to follow at Joshua Cemetery. There will be a "Pot Luck" lunch served after the graveside services. So come, bring a dish and fellowship with the family. Pallbearers: Louis Salinas, Monroe Joshua, Fidel Rangel, Clayton Shedd, Jerry Shaffer and Roy Buckner. Honorary Pallbearers: Louis DeLaGarza, Manuel Serrano, Jason Elkins, Vic Salinas, Tommy Salinas, Pat Salinas, Millard Shaffer and Vernon Moffitt. Price died on February 6, 2011 at Kanawha Co., West Virginia, at age 85.3,2 She Phyllis M. Shaffer, 85, of Rocky Fork went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 6, 2011. Phyllis was a lifelong resident of the Cross Lanes area. She was an active member of McKinnon Presbyterian Church since 1953 and had been an elder, Sunday school teacher, and choir member, as well as doing anything that was asked of her. Phyllis was a former member of the Tyler Mountain Homemakers, an artist, a seamstress and a quilter. She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Lonzo F. Shaffer; daughters, Janet (Rick) Norris of Hurricane, Barbara (Jim) Skidmore of Cross Lanes and Jo Ann (Woody) Snyder of Clendenin; sister, Lola Underwood of Sissonville; and brothers Herbert Price of Sissonville and Willard Price of Ravenswood. Phyllis was blessed with seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. A service to celebrate Phyllis' life will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 9, at Tyler Mountain Funeral Home with the Rev. Doug Minnerly officiating. Entombment will be in Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens Mausoleum. There will be a gathering of family and friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, 5233 Rocky Fork Road, Cross Lanes. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to McKinnon Presbyterian Church, 4278 W. Washington St., Charleston, WV 25313. on February 8, 2011.2
