While her family and friends mourn the loss of a life cut much too short, Sandy felt blessed to have packed so much living into the years she had. She embraced life with an energetic spirit, touching many lives and hearts in the process. Especially dear to her heart was her volunteer work at Memorial Hermann Hospital Southwest the past 16 years. During this time, she served as President of the Auxiliary, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, was a member of the Memorial Hospital System Board, and was currently Recording Secretary of the Texas Association of Hospital Auxiliaries. Sandy also served on the Steering Committee of KINDERx Clinic. In addition, she worked for seven years as a Continental Airlines Ambassador, and was an active member of the Preceptor Beta chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. Sandy traveled every chance she got and loved bowling, bunco, gambling trips, her Friday card game group, and the Red Hat Society and that was in her "spare" time. Always a "people-person", Sandy spoiled her family and treasured friends. Sandy was born in Charleston, WV on August 16, 1938. Some 12 years later, she met Robert L. (Bob) Davis. The two became high school sweethearts and were married June 13, 1956 - a true love match for 48 years. In addition to the love of her life, Sandy is survived by her daughter, Debra Lynn Davis; sons, Mark Steven Davis and wife, LouAnn, and Jeffrey Scott Davis and his wife, Renee; five grandchildren she adored - Steven, Scott, Laura, Jennifer, and Amanda (Lou) Davis; her parents, Harold and Myrtle Pendell; her brother, Harold (Butch) Pendell II, and his wife Vicki; Brothers and Sisters-in-law, Billie Davis, Jim and Shirley Davis, Tom and Elaine Davis, and Joan and Ed Wilkinson; many nieces and nephews; godson, Will Dearman; and a host of friends - each of whom she counted as an extra blessing in her life. The family would like to express their gratitude and appreciation to these friends for their love, care and support during this time, as well as, the 12th floor staff at St. Luke's Episcopal Hospital and Dr. Kirk Heyne and his staff.
