A retired railroader, Mr. Hagley married Sally Wickham in 1937 and she survives. Also surviving step-children, James of Salem, Ore., Mrs. George Richardson and Robert, both Carey; brothers, Clarence and Carl, Carey; sisters, Mrs. Mamie Nye, Carey; Mrs. Anna Trapp and Mrs. Richard Ruoff, both Grove City, and four step-grandchildren. Burial will be in Spring Grove cemetery. on May 8, 1968.4

She was born on October 6, 1936, in Tiffin Ohio, to Raymond and Elizabeth (Ecker) Hohman. On June 25, 1971, in New Riegel, she married James M.“Flash” Wickham and he preceded her in death on November 3, 2003. Survivors include her son, James (Stephanie) Wickham of Tiffin; and two grandsons, Tyler and Logan Wickham. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and brother, James P. Hohman. Toots graduated from New Riegel High School and volunteered at Mercy-Health-Tiffin Hospital. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rosary Altar Society, was a CCD teacher, Eucharistic Minister and volunteered for the RCIA program. She enjoyed playing cards, doing puzzles books and following sports, especially the Pittsburg Steelers, University of Michigan and the Atlanta Braves. Toots loved spending time with her family, especially her grandson. He also attended the University of Virginia and graduated from Old Dominion University, Norfolk, Va. He was in trust banking for over 30 years and retired as head trust officer with S.C. Bank and Trust. Mr. Mills was involved in Rotary, Kiwanis and Lions Clubs. He enjoyed golf, basketball, racquetball, handball and coached girl's basketball at Our Lady of Mercy in Winston-Salem, N.C. He was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Seaford, Va. Surviving are his wife, Sally Scofield Mills of Columbia; three daughters, Audra F. Mills of Williamsburg, Va., Holly R. Mills of Newport News, Va., and Barbara M. Meyer and her husband, Nicholas B. Meyer, of Albuquerque, N.M; two grandchildren, Charles A. 'Cam' Meyer and Christopher Maxwell 'Max' Meyer; his mother and stepfather, Frances and Ray I. Etheridge of Seaford, Va; and three brothers, Ronnie Mills, Robbie Mills and Ivan Etheridge, all of Virginia. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 3, at Zion United Methodist Church in Seaford. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday, May 2, in Amory Funeral Home, Grafton. Ray was a native of Guernsey, WY and was a former resident of Gloucester before moving to the Peninsula in 1982. He retired as a LT. from the US Navy after 25 years. Serving during World War II, Korea and Vietnam. After retirement he worked in Naval Mine Engineering at Naval Weapons Station, Yorktown and was also a real estate agent. He was a former member and helped to build Apostle Lutheran Church in Gloucester, and was a member of Zion United Methodist Church in Seaford. Ray is survived by his wife Frances; 3 sons Ivan Etheridge (Shari) of Gloucester, Ronnie Mills (Irene) of Seaford, Robbie Mills (Brenda) of Yorktown; 10 grandchildren, 11 great-great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. He is also survived by special friends Ron and Brenda Pierce and Barbara Zeno. He was preceded in death by a son, Larry Mills. A funeral service with full military honors will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, October 13, at Zion United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
