     Howard Kenneth "Ken" Ober was born on December 30, 1941 at Prince William Co., Virginia.³ He married Linda Darlene Smoot on June 30, 1961 at Floyd Co., Virginia.^2,4 Howard Kenneth "Ken" Ober died on May 14, 2020 at Copper Hill, Floyd Co., Virginia, at age 78.⁵ He Howard Kenneth (Ken) Ober, 78, of Copper Hill, Va., passed away peacefully at his home Thursday morning, May 14, 2020, with his family by his side. He retired from Lowes after 26 years of dedicated service where he made many lifelong friends. Ken was also a dedicated NASCAR fan. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Linda Ober. Surviving to cherish his memory are his three children, Pamela Stinnett and husband, Barry, Melissa Neece and husband, Danny, and Kenneth Ober and wife, Susan; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Ober, and Bill Ober and wife, Libby; and one sister, Ruth Ann Fornes. He also leaves behind a lifelong friend, Glenna Wimmer. His family will have a private visitation. on May 16, 2020.⁵

She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Howard Kenneth (Ken) Ober, her three children, Pamela Stinnett and son-in-law, Barry, Melissa Neece and son-in-law, Danny, Kenny Ober and daughter-in-law, Susan; eight grandchildren who were the light of her life, Amanda Stinnett, Tate Stinnett and wife, Dakota, Austin Stinnett, Douglas Neece, Shane Neece, Carley Neece, Kenny Ober, Braxton Ober, and one very special great-granddaughter, Bella Dayne Stinnett. A loving wife, mother and "Meemaw", she will be truly missed by all who knew her. Even through her battle with cancer, she remained strong and positive. She always had a warm smile on her face. She was a true hero and inspiration to everyone she knew. Friends may call at Oakey's South Chapel on Brambleton Ave. from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday August 17, 2013, where a Celebration of Life will be at 4 p.m. The Rev. Greg Fleshman will officiate.
