     Kari La Verne Lewis was buried at Maury Cemetery, 2700 Maury Street, Richmond, Virginia.² She Kari Lewis-Byers Pelletier, 52, of Crewe, a retired nurse, passed away Thursday morning, April 7, 2011 at her home. She is survived by her husband, Stan Pelletier; a son, Hunter Byers; a daughter, Virginia “Kay” Byers; two step-daughters, Jennifer Pelletier; Kimberly Gerhart of Norfolk and five grandchildren. She is also survived by her mother, Joyce and father, Alfred Lewis; two sisters, Jill and her husband, Luther “L.A.” Carroll; Connie and her husband, Gene “Chip” Armstrong; and a brother, John Lewis of Hampstead, N.C; a niece, Nicole Carroll; nephews, Alex Carroll, Jaime and Brandon Armstrong, all of Richmond. She will greatly missed by all who loved her. Visitation with family and friends will be held Sunday, April 10, 2011 from 12 PM to 2 PM with a service following at the Jennings-McMillian Funeral Home, 200 West Carolina Avenue, Crewe, VA. Burial service will be held 12 P.M., Monday, April 11, 2011 at Maury Cemetery, Richmond. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Riverside Community Church, P.O. Box 65, Farmville, VA 23901. Arrangements are in the care of Jennings-McMillian Funeral Home.² Her married name was Byers.¹ Her married name was Pelletier.² She married Grover Cleveland Byers III, son of Grover Cleveland Byers Jr. and Alice Elizabeth Martin.¹ Kari La Verne Lewis married Stan Pelletier.² Kari La Verne Lewis was born on December 13, 1958.¹ She died on April 7, 2011 at Crewe, Nottoway Co., Virginia, at age 52.^1,2
