Hiroko Yamaguchi1
F, b. August 25, 1933, d. October 15, 2005
Her Social Security Number was 213-78-6982.2 Her married name was Davee.1 Hiroko Yamaguchi married Francis William "Frank" Davee, son of Warren Reichert Davee and Rose Rogusz.1 Hiroko Yamaguchi was born on August 25, 1933 at Japan.2 She died on October 15, 2005 at Orange Co., California, at age 72.2 She Frank and Hiroko Davee lived extraordinary lives. Hiroko was raised in Nagasaki, Japan and lived with her grandfather and aunt. She survived the atomic devastation of her city with grace and forgiveness. Her early days were filled with business school, dancing and samurai movies. Little did she know that her life would change dramatically with the arrival of a young American sailor. Frank was born in the small town of West Point, Nebraska. He joined the Navy at 17 and began his journey to Hiroko. They met on a blind date. Fell in love. Frank was scheduled to ship back to the states and told Hiroko that he would be back. Of course, she did not believe him. However, six months later she returned home and saw his big black shoes outside the front door and Frank inside drinking sake with her dad. This was the beginning of their forty-nine year love affair. After serving in the Navy for 20 years, Frank and Hiroko retired in beautiful San Clemente. With their three children they created a home filled with laughter and love. They opened their home to all those who needed love and friendship. They hosted every holiday, graduation party, wedding reception, birthday party, and simple barbeque. In 1978 they opened their own travel agency, The Travel Office, and traversed the world. In 1989 they became grandparents for the first time. This was to be their grandest achievement. No one could have asked for a better Mom Mom and Pop Pop. We will miss them daily. Frank and Hiroko are survived by their children, William and Mary Davee, Daniel and Lynda, Davee Virginia and Chris Reischl; their grandchildren, Matisse Angeline, Conner Francis, Jaxson Carver and Jinji Hiroko; Frank's brother Warren and Elaine Davee of Nebraska; Hiroko's brothers Masao, Isao, and Junji Yamaguchi and their families of Nagasaki. A memorial will be held at Saddleback Church in Lake Forest on January 9 at 1pm. Military Honors will be held for Frank at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego on January 10. on December 17, 2005.1
