The funeral was to be held today at 2 p.m. at Farris Mines Chrisitan Church with the Rev. Howard Bruce and the Rev. Paul Smucker officiating. Burial was to follow in the church cemetery. Stickler's Funeral Home in Pulaski is handling arrangements. on May 19, 1975.2

Born October 31, 1908 in Allisonia, she was the daughter of the late William Harrison Farris and Carline Elizabeth Fugate Farris. She was a member of the Farris Mines Christian Church, Allisonia and was preceded in death by her husband, John Davis Breeden. Surviving are one sister, Mrs. Maude Persinger Chandler, Covington and a number of nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Farris Mines Christian Church cemetery with Rev. Gary McGrew of Covington officiating. Interment will be in the Farris Mines Christian Church cemetery. Visiting will be this evening from 7p.m. to 9 p.m. at Bower Funeral Chapel, 1631 Bob White Blvd., Pulaski. Bower Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements. on June 9, 1987.2

Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Duncan of Parrott; two daughters, Mrs. Vickie Boyd of Radford and Mrs. Alice Corder of Christiansburg; two sons, Edward Duncan and Frankie Duncan, both of Radford; a stepdaughter, Sonja Gallimore of Pulaski; two stepsons, Curtis Gallimore of Pulaski and Carl Gallimore of Dublin; three brothers, Victor Duncan and Eddie Duncan, both of Columbus, OH, and Donald Duncan of Riner; four sisters, Nettie Backus of Lima, OH, Margaret Bishop of Dublin, Marie Medley of Columbus, OH and Geneva Lewis of Delaware; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. A graveside service will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Hickman Cemetery in Pulaski County with the Rev. Thornton Turpin officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Seaver-Sanders & Mullins Funeral Home, Radford.      Donald Payton Rigney was buried at Bermuda Memorial Park, Enon, Chesterfield Co., Virginia.2 He married Jean Steele.2 Donald Payton Rigney was born on March 18, 1926 at Pulaski Co., Virginia.4,2 He died on August 2, 2013 at Virginia at age 87.2 He Donald Payton Rigney, 87, of Hopewell, went to be with his Lord on Friday, August 2, 2013. Born in Pulaski, Virginia, he was the son of the late Kelly and Annie Lindsey Rigney. Mr. Rigney was a United States Marine Corps veteran and a retired millwright with Allied Chemical. He was an active member of First United Methodist Church, where he taught Sunday school and was a member of the church choir. He was also a member of Loyal Order of the Moose No. 1472. Mr. Rigney was a devoted and loving husband, father, Paw-Paw and great Paw-Paw. In addition to his parents, Mr. Rigney was preceded in death by three brothers, Wallace Rigney, Sr., Jerry Rigney and James Rigney, and a sister, Rebecca Duncan. He is survived by his wife, Jean Steele Rigney; daughters, Donna Rigney Butterworth and husband, Curtis, of Hopewell, and Debra Rigney Drouin and husband, Francis, of New Hampshire; grandchildren, Brandon Payton Butterworth and wife, Jessica, of Hopewell, Brooke Ashley Butterworth of Wilmington, NC, and Melissa Lee Drouin of New Hampshire; great-grandchildren, Carter Reynoldson Butterworth and Grayson Davis Butterworth; sister, Joyce Rigney Whitt of Radford, VA; brothers, Hersel Rigney and wife, Margarete, of Michigan and Robert “Bobby” Rigney of Pulaski, VA; and two devoted caregivers, Terry Mitchell and Jessi Elkins. A funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 6th at the Hopewell Chapel of J. T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Interment will follow at Bermuda Memorial Park. Surviving are his daughter, Brenda Lee Fulk and husband, Russell; four grandchildren, Brandon, Jesse, Daniel and Anthony Fulk all of Roanoke; brothers, Bobby Rigney and Jerry Rigney of Radford, Donald Rigney of Hopewell and Hersel Rigney of Rodchester, Mich; sister, Joyce Whitt of Radford and special friend of the family, Louise Prather. The family would like to thank Kathy and Bridget of Good Samaritan Hospice. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens with the Rev.
