Carroll, 82, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2015, in Hospice Care at Fort Meade Veterans Hospital with his family at his side. Marvin was born August 27, 1932, in Pringle to Glenn and Evelyn (Gamber) Carroll. He was a log cutter and served in the National Guard until entering and serving in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War. Marvin received an honorable discharge on Dec. 8, 1955. Marvin and Maggie married on August 10, 1957. They moved to Kalispell, MT, in the early 1960's where he continued log cutting and eventually entered the Ironworkers Union. The family then moved to Rapid City, where he worked on the missile silos with Local 454. He continued as an Ironworker until a disabling auto accident in 1976. Marvin had a love for great outdoors and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Marvin lived at home with his wife until entering the hospital in April 2015. Marvin is survived by his wife, Magdalena "Maggie" (Schmidt) Carroll; children, Michael (Brenda) Carroll of Rapid City, Gloria (Tim) Smith of Hastings, NE, Yvonne (Steve) Uhrich of Kent, WA, and Neal (Tanya) Carroll of Rapid City; 15 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a brother, Laverne Carroll of Custer; sisters, Beverly (Benson, Carlson of Edgemont, and Arlene (Harold) Flack of Rapid City; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by an infant son; his father, Glenn Carroll; his mother, Evelyn Alspach; and three brothers, Bernard, Wayne and Earl Carroll. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. today at Behrens-Wilson Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 8, at the funeral home, followed by burial at Black Hills National Cemetery near Sturgis, with military honors provided. on May 7, 2015.3

Carroll married Catherine Olson in 1992.4 Earl E. Carroll died on August 29, 2014 at Hysham, Treasue Co., Montana, at age 78.4 He Earl Carroll, 78, of Billings passed away Friday Aug. 29, 2014, due to a tragic accident near Hysham. Earl was born in Pringle, S.D. the son of Glen and Evelyn Carroll. In 1992, Earl married Catherine Olson. For the past twenty years he worked as a contractor. In years past he worked as a logger, iron worker and owner/trainer of race horses, an endeavor he dearly loved. Earl was preceded in death by a daughter, Vicki, his parents and brothers, Bernard and Wayne. He is survived by his wife, Catherine and her two children, Shawn (Melissa), Christine (Darby); grandchildren, Donovan and Averie. Earl is also survived by brothers, Marvin (Maggie), LaVonne; sisters, Arlene (Harold), Beverly (Ben); son, Gary (Lisa); daughters, Susie (Terry) and Cathy as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Celebration of Life to be from 5 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday Sept. 9, at Smitty's 3953 Montana Ave. on September 3, 2014.4
