Also surviving are step grandchildren, Destiny Barton, Christopher Lee Barton Jr., Brandon Thomas, Ashlyn Barton, and Eric and Heather Parnell; two step great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews, Kenneth Dalton Sloan Jr., Kimberly Sloan Snider, Melissa Stanley Frith, Shelley Sloan Mounce, and Dennis Lee Sloan Jr. Burial will follow at Maple Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. on November 21, 2021.5

She was a retired cake decorator having worked for Kroger for nearly 15 years. She also enjoyed playing the piano at the Body of Christ Church in Salem where her late husband had pastored. Preceding her in death were her parents, the Rev. Ralph and Sadie Nester; husband, the Rev. Paul H. LePhew ; and children, Oren and Stephanie. Her surviving family includes her children, Gary, Michael (Shirley), Donald (Terry), Tony, and Melissa (Keith); 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and siblings, Shirley, Arlene, and Wayne. A period of visitation will be held on Thursday, June 28, 2012, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in the John M. Oakey & Son Chapel in Salem. A Funeral Service will then begin at 2 p.m., also in the chapel, with the Rev. Michael Collins officiating. Interment will be private. on June 27, 2012.2
