She was a loving and selfless mother, and a retired nurse. She was part owner of Bratcher's Oak Grove Shell. Mrs. Bratcher met William Ray Bratcher while they were both in the Navy. She was born on Bent Mountain, Va., near Copper Hill. She was preceded in death by her husband, William R. Bratcher; her mother, Onie Maddox and Morton Maddox (second husband); and her father, William Robert Manning. She was also preceded in death by brothers-in-law. She is survived by her son, Steven Bratcher; daughter, Debra Bratcher; sisters-in-law, Rita Bratcher and Anna Marie Bratcher; grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and many friends. Mrs. Bratcher loved all animals, especially dogs. She loved to listen to easy listening music. Debra Bratcher would like to thank a special family friend, Joan Dameron. Interment will follow in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens. on April 3, 2013.2
