Pauline had been a resident of Carrington Place Nursing Home in Matthews, N.C., since August 2009. Before that time, she was a resident of Richfield Recovery and & Care Center in Salem, Va. Pauline was born on March 10, 1918, in Copper Hill, Va., to Delia Deweese and Talhampton Gearheart. She had three brothers, Moyer, Harry, and Furl Gearheart. Pauline married Hurstal Epling and they had a daughter, Bonnie Charlene Epling, in 1938. Bonnie passed away in 2007 from colon cancer. Bonnie had a son, Steven Paul Key; and a grandson, Christian Steven Key. Steven Paul Key passed away in March 2011. Pauline married Earl Saville in 1952 and they had a daughter, Sharon Roxanne Saville, and a son, Tracy Alan Saville. Sharon has a daughter, Jessica Lauren Parker. Tracy and his wife, Joyce Oyler, have a daughter and son, Alicia Catherine Saville and Christopher Alan Saville. These family members live in North Carolina. Pauline is remembered for her love of vegetable gardens, country cooking, Democratic Party ideals, and a pleasant speaking voice. She was an active member of Tabernacle Baptist Church for many years. Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 28, 2011, at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. He was an active member of the Faith Alliance Christian Church for over 55 years where he was the second oldest member of the church. He worked as a welder for Semco until his retirement in 1985. He belonged to Sheet Metal Workers Union, Local #100 and the Masonic Lodge. He also drove a military bus during World War II, carrying soldiers to Camp Lee in Blackstone. He never met a stranger and teased and joked with everyone he knew. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Lois Edwards Gearheart, brothers, Harry and Moyer Gearheart and sister, Inez Gearheart. Surviving are his daughter, Denise G. Aldridge and husband, James P. Aldridge of Roanoke; son, Michael H. Gearheart of Marietta, Ga; grandchildren, Timothy Mark Aldridge and wife, Julia, Arnie P. Aldridge and wife, Molly, Lisa Michelle Gunter and husband, Clayton, and Kristen Nicole Gearheart; great-grandchildren, Ethan Gunter, Ella Aldridge and Avery Gunter. Also surviving are his sister, Pauline B. Saville of Salem; sisters-in-law, Joann Robinson and husband, Harold of Roanoke, Lozelle Bandy and husband, George of Bonsack, and Geraldine Patsel of Roanoke along with several nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank close friend, Virginia Meredith for all her help and companionship. The funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 15, 2006 at Oakey's South Chapel with the Rev. David Fraser officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park. Born on December 14, 1921, at Tazewell, Va., she was the daughter of the late Henry Marion and Rosa Collins Patrick. She was retired from the Celanese Corporation after over 40 years of service. Ruth loved to do all kind of crafts and many of them adorned the Christmas Trees in her children's homes. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kester Sherman Smith; two sons and a daughter-in-law, William Blake Poff, and Marion Lee Poff and wife, Lois; three brothers, John, Joe and Henry Patrick; two sisters, Nan Johnson and Bessie Fox; and a grandson, Donald Lee Poff. Left to cherish her memory are two sons, Steven Kester Smith and wife, Brenda, of Irmo, S.C., and John Michael Poff and wife, Lynn, of Charlotte, N.C; daughter-in- law, Jackie Poff, of Manassas, Va; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and eight stepgreat-grandchildren. Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 5, 2012, at the Broyles- Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Steve Howdock officiating. Burial will follow in the Orchard Cemetery, Ballard, W.Va. Friends may call one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home. "Bill" was born in Pearisburg on November 28, 1942 a son of the late Roosevelt V. Poff and Caroline P. Smith of Peterstown, W.Va. He was a member of the 1963 graduating class at Giles High School in Pearisburg and earned his living in the furniture refinishing business. He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Dowdy Poff of Manassas; four children, Delaine Jeffreys of Manassas, David Poff of Alexandria, Williams Poff, Jr. of Woodbridge, and James Poff of Herndon; his mother; three brothers, Marion Poff, John Poff and Steve Smith; five grandchildren, Jessica Jeffreys, Jasmine Jeffreys, Ashley Poff, Daniel Hickerson and James Jeffreys; his mother-in-law, Mary C. Dowdy of Pembroke. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Lee Funeral Home in Manassas and Saturday, March 18 at 1 p.m. at the Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. at Lee Funeral Home and Saturday from 12 noon to 1 p.m. at the Kendall Funeral Home in Pembroke. Arrangements in Giles County are with Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow Street in Pembroke. on March 14, 2000.1

     Marion Lee "Skooty" Poff was buried at Birchlawn Burial Park, Pearisburg, Giles Co., Virginia.2 He was born on July 17, 1940 at War, McDowell Co., West Virginia.2 He married Lois Ann Stafford on May 26, 1963 at Pulaski Co., Virginia.2,6,5 Marion Lee "Skooty" Poff died on January 24, 2010 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia, at age 69.2 He Marion Lee (Skooty) Poff, 69, of Pulaski, Va., went to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 24, 2010, at LewisGale Medical Center, Salem. He was born on July 17, 1940, at War, W.Va. He was preceded in death by his father, Roosevelt Poff; his stepfather, Keister S. Smith; his brother, William B. Poff; and his wife of 45 years, Lois Ann Stafford Poff. He served in the United States Air Force for 23 years, was a Vietnam War Veteran, and worked 21 years for Civil Service. He attended several local churches. He sorely missed his beloved wife, Lois, and was ready to go home to Heaven and join her. He was a loving husband, devoted father and Honored Veteran. He is survived by a son, Richard Lee (Ricky) Poff, of Oklahoma City, Okla; his mother, Ruth P. Smith, of Peterstown, W.Va; and two brothers, John M. Poff, of Charlotte, N.C., and Steven K. Smith, of Irmo, S.C. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2010, at the A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate with the Rev. Leslie Shelton officiating. Military Graveside Rites at Birchlawn Burial Park, Pearisburg by Narrows VFW Post #6000, Narrows American Legion Post #68 and Pembroke American Legion Post #311. The visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 27, 2010, from 6 to 8 p.m. on January 25, 2010.2

     Martha Uldene Blount was buried at Mountain View Cemetery, 1300 Mountain View Road, Vinton, Roanoke Co., Virginia.3,4 She was born on June 9, 1922 at Floyd Co., Virginia.1,4 She married Lynwood Carlton Hale, son of Caleb Elbert Hale and Clara V. Board, on November 11, 1939 at Floyd Co., Virginia.1,3 As of November 11, 1939,her married name was Hale. Martha Uldene Blount died on February 24, 2009 at Virginia at age 86.3,4 She Martha Uldene Blount (Snookie), went home February 24, 2009. She had endured a hard fought battle with double pneumonia, destructive bacteria in the intestine, diabetes complications, neuropathy, and complications with her tracheostomy she received 30 years ago at the time she had cancer of the vocal cords. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lynwood C. Hale; her younger daughter, Dreamer Lynn Hale; her brother, Kenneth Lee Blount, and a multitude of beloved pets. She was born in Jeter's Chapel, in Bedford County, June 9, 1922, the daughter of Thelma Harris Blount and Jesse Blount. Always an optimist and one who never believed in giving up, she survived many years with numerous disabilities and never let them affect her effervescent love of life. All who met her were impressed with her positive attitude and quick wit. She was a wife who appreciated and loved her husband even though her last 21 years were without him. Her life was focused on him and their daughters. A superb cook, a lover of books, one who knitted, raised African violets, she was never a victim of boredom. After sending her daughters away to college, she earned a nursing degree at Roanoke Memorial. Throughout her life, she took in and cared for numerous homeless dogs and cats. She strongly believed in appropriate and humane treatment of all animals and contributed generously to animal organizations and to individuals who needed help in caring for their pets. She is survived by her older daughter, Marjorie Dawn Hale; her brother, Daniel Lyn Blount; son-in-law, Peter J. Egan; beloved friend, Myrtle B. Jamison; her dog, Mugli; and her cats, Smudge, Aryana, Sweetie, and Bumble Bee. Interment will be in Mountain View Cemetery, Vinton. Friends may call after 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 26, 2009, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel, 982-2111. on February 26, 2009.3
