Elsie was a member of Bethany Church of the Brethren and she was a very loving Christian. She gave of herself without question and a hard worker. She worked at Callaway School as a custodian. Mama loved her family and her family always came first no matter how she felt. She worked hard raising her eleven children. She worked doing Whatever needed to be done-farm work, taking care of her kids, grandkids, and garden work. She always had a big garden and she canned hundreds of jars of vegetables and fruits. Funeral services will be conducted from Fairmont Baptist Church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. on June 12, 2021.3

Born September 13, 1939 the son of the late Walter Lee and Abigail Richards Guilliams. Along with his parents, Billy was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Jennifer Lynn Mulkey; a sister, Doris Clingenpeel and a brother-in-law, James William (Bill) Holt. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife, Fedessa Abby Southall Guilliams; his adoring daughter, Jackie Leigh Dyer; a dearly loved granddaughter who was the light of his life, Ashleigh Elizabeth Haley. He received the title of "The Best PaPa in the World" from the little lady he called PaPa's Girl. Also surviving are stepdaughter, Wanda Berger and husband Harry; stepgranddaughters, Andrea Nicole St.Clair, Stephanie Dawn Berger and Mandi Lynn Hale; step great-grandchildren, Emileigh Berger and Jarrod Cole Phillippe; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy Guilliams and wife Marie and Douglas Guilliams and wife Catherine (Kitten); sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret Holt, Elsie Bowles and husband David and Elizabeth Bowles and husband J.P; brother-in-law, Winfred Clingenpeel; aunts, Lura Webb and husband Nick and Ora Hale; mother-in-law, Vaughine Southall; sister-in-law, Tammy Kingery and husband Steve; and a number of nieces and nephews. Billy served in the United States Army and the National Guard. A retired engineer from Norfork-Southern Railroad with 34 years service. A member of the Fairmont Baptist Church and American Legion Post 96 in Callaway. Billy was a modest man when it came to reveling his talents, being careful not to be boastful, as he was blessed with many. He enjoyed building doll houses for his daughter and doing prize winning wood carving that he shared with his friends. He found much pleasure in the beauty of nature while hunting and fishing. Billy loved music and he shared his musical talents with friends and family. Bluegrass being one of his favorites. He never missed an opportunity to attend a music festival or a neighborhood gathering. His exuberance and energy were boundless and this was never more apparent than on the dance floor. He didn't mind showing anyone a dance step and was always ready to learn a new one from others. Family gatherings delighted his heart. He passionately loved all his family and his many friends. He called so many friend and all were special to him. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, December 20, 2006 at Fairmont Baptist Church at 1 p.m. with the Rev. Leonard Castleman, Pastor Joe Dillon and the Rev. Jack Corvin officiating. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call after 2 p.m. on Tuesday, December 19,2006 at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. and at other times at the home of Abby Guilliams , 93 Tree Brooks Lane, Rocky Mount. The family would like to extend a special heartfelt thank you to all the staff at the VA Medical Center in Salem for their excellent care. Clingenpeel, 78, of Boones Mill, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 8, 2008. He was born June 23, 1929, to the late George Henry and Sarah Clingenpeel. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Doris Guilliams Clingenpeel; brother, Gordon Clingenpeel; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Lee and Abby Guilliams; brother-in-law, Billy Guilliams; and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bill and Margaret Holt. Winford was a member of Fairmont Baptist Church and he served in the United States Army during the Korean War. After the war was over he worked for the VA Medical Center as a nursing assistant where he retired in 1989. He was also a lifelong member Boones Mill Rescue Squad and Fire Department. Surviving are his children, Michael and Debra Clingenpeel , Rickey and Janice Clingenpeel, and Teresa C. Frith; grandchildren, Shannon and Adam Riley, Jessica Clingenpeel, Ryan Clingenpeel, Sierra Frith and Brittany Frith; one great-grandchild, Abbigail; "adopted sons" Scott and Jason Guilliams; brothers and sisters-in-law, Walter and Barbara Clingenpeel, Delma and Alma Clingenpeel and Jean Clingenpeel; one sister and brother-in-law, Alice Mae and Eli Price; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Elsie and David Bowles and Elizabeth and J.P. Bowles; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Marie Guilliams and Doug and Cathy "Kitty" Guilliams; and many other nieces and nephews. His family would especially like to thank, Ernest Furrow. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Fairmont Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 1669 Bethlehem Road, Boones Mill, Va. 24065. Funeral services will be conducted from Fairmont Baptist Church at 11 a.m. Friday, January 11, 2008, with the Rev. Leonard Castleman officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. His family will be receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, January 10, 2008, at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount, Va. on January 10, 2008.2

P. Bowles Sr., 89, of Boones Mill, VA passed away Monday, January 21, 2019. He was born October 20, 1929 the son of the late Johnny Lewis Bowles and Annie Viola Walters Bowles. He was preceded in death by an infant son, Alan Dale Bowles; sister, Ethel Catherine Garinian; brother, John David Bowles.
