She was a devoted mother to her son, Craig Oliver (Jenna), and her daughters, Linda Oliver Tate (Matthew) and Lindsey Storey (Gary). She cherished her role as a grandmother and leaves behind nine beloved grandchildren: Braden Oliver, Olivia Wilkerson, Liam Wilkerson, Landon Wilkerson, Bentley Oliver, Maddie Oliver, Aurora Storey, Lane Oliver, and Orion Storey. Her beloved pet companions; Spice and Nugget. Linda was preceded in death by her father; Robert Thomas Lee St. Clair and her stepfather; Floyd Berkley Stanley whose memories she held close to her heart.      June Sheridan Ferris June Ferris Radford, age 87, of Roanoke County walked into her heavenly home on June 11, 2025. June was born on May 19, 1938 in Roanoke, Virginia. She was the oldest of four children born to Richard and Mary Ferris. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Samuel Paul and Richard Ellis and sister, Margaret Naomi. June graduated from William Fleming High School in 1956 and attended Radford College (now Radford University) graduating in 1960 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. She taught school in the Roanoke City Public School system for many years following in the footsteps of her beloved mother who taught in Roanoke County. Later, June left the classroom and served as a guidance counselor at Breckinridge Middle School and William Ruffner Middle School. She developed a strong circle of friends who were fellow educators, and those relationships endured for many years. June won the Miss Roanoke Valley beauty pageant in 1958 showcasing her stunning beauty and rich soprano voice. She shared her voice and other talents with her church family at Central Church of the Brethren where she and husband Don attended for many years. Later, June and Don attended New Life Ministries. She remained strong in her faith throughout her life and was grateful for the pastoral care and outreach provided by New Life Ministries as she and Don grew older. June married the love of her life, Donald D. Radford on July 30, 1960 in Roanoke, Virginia at Central Church of the Brethren. They met in high school and June had eyes for no other. Shortly after they married, they settled into a house built by her father-in-law, Byron L. Radford, and lived there during the majority of their almost 65 year marriage. June was a member of the American Business Women’s Association for many years and encouraged women to take leadership roles in business. She served on educational committees promoting girls and education. June enjoyed spending time with her family, cruising with her husband and friends, attending NASCAR races, and savoring Lebanese food . She will be remembered for her love of cats including special furry friends Mela, Baby Girl and Morty. June is survived by her husband of almost 65 years, Donald D. Radford; nephews, Patrick Shane Ferris, David F. Radford ( Lisa) Daniel Robertson (Leslie), Donald Robertson (Debi), William Robertson (Marie), Greg Newman (Irene), Robert Newman, Jim Newman (Lisa), Stephen Campbell (Rhonda), Michael Evans (Fawn); nieces Mary Frances Radford (Bob Weiss), Nancy Keating (Mark), Jane Radford (Maureen Quinn), Kim Reedy (Robbie), Linda Campbell, Debbie Simmons, Karleen Page; sister-in-law Mary Elizabeth Radford; brother in law Rev. Henry Butler; godson Stephen Lavinder; dearly loved “children” Gigi Craft Hall and Dr. George F. Craft, II and a host of cousins. Special thanks to Marie Young who served as caregiver to June during the last few years of her life. Also, special thanks to all her caring neighbors on Byron Circle especially Reginald and Sue Oliphant who were special to her.
