Chatham, formerly of Youngdale, died Wednesday afternoon at 4:50 o'clock at the home of his daughter, Mrs. George W. Probst, at Lockport, Pa., of capillary bronchitis. Mr. Chatham went to Lockport on December 9 to visit his daughter, and was taken suddenly ill on the 18th of December. From the beginning his case was considered critical and forty hours before the end came he entered into a comatose state, which condition was not changed until his spirit took its flight. His son, William, and daughter, Mrs. Probst, were with him when the end came. He was aged 80 years, 3 months and 2 days. He was born in Wayne township, Clinton county, and always resided in this township, his occupation being a stonemason and bricklayer. Mr. Chatham is survived by the following children, Mrs. J. Q. Simcox, Jersey Shore; C. A. Chatham, Syracuse, N.Y; W. R. Chatham, Renovo; Mrs. Elmer Foltz, Williamsport; H. M. Chatham, Pittsburg; Mrs. George W. Probst, Lockport. The funeral services, which will be private, will be held from the home of G. W. Probst, in Lockport, Saturday afternoon at 1.30 o'clock and will be conducted by Rev. R. S. Daubert. Interment will be made in the Union cemetery at McElhattan. The pall bearers will be the three sons mentioned above and three grandsons, Charles and Roy Simcox, of Jersey Shore, and Charles Chatham, of Renovo. The remains can be viewed from 2 to 4 o'clock Friday afternoon at the Probst home in Lockport. on January 13, 1916.3,5

Carroll circa 1891.3,4,9,5,10 William R. Chatham died on June 5, 1935 at Erie, Erie Co., Pennsylvania, at age 65.8,5 He W. R. Chatham died last night at his home in Erie of heart trouble. He was taken ill about two weeks ago but had improved greatly and his sudden demise came as a shock to his friends. Mr. Chatham was born and raised in McElhattan and when 17 years old became a telegraph operator on the Beech Creek, Clearfield and Southwestern Railroad. Later he went into service of the Pennsylvania on the Renovo division where he served for many years. He is survived by his wife and one son, C. C. Chatham, of Erie, and the following brothers and sisters, Mrs. Hattie C. Probst, Lock Haven; C. A. Chatham, Washington, D.C; H. M. Chatham, Pittsburgh, and Mrs. E. F. Foltz, Williamsport. Funeral services will be announced later. on June 6, 1935.8

     Jacob G. Chatham was buried at Union-Throne Cemetery (now known as Linnwood Cemetery), 200 Yds, North West of Church At McElhattan, McElhattan, Clinton Co., Pennsylvania.2,3 He was born on October 4, 1873 at Pennsylvania.1,2 He died on August 15, 1901 at Clinton Co., Pennsylvania, at age 27.3 He Jacob G. Chatham, a well known resident of Wayne township, Clinton county, was struck by a train near Queen's Run Thursday evening and instantly killed. Chatham was employed as one of the night crew operating the steam shovel near the Queen's Run bridge. The accident occurred about 7 o'clock. Chatham is said to have been standing on the track and when struck by the engine was thrown 200 feet from where he was standing, the body being buried higher than the telegraph poles. The remains were taken to Lock Haven. Coroner Shoemaker was notified, but after an investigation decidied not to hold an inquest. John G. Chatham was the son of John H. Chatahm of McElahttan, and was aged about 27 years. He was married less than a year ago and is survived by his wife. He had been employed at west Virginia at operating a steam shovel and only returned from that section a few weeks ago. He and his wife made their home with Mr. Chatham's parent at McElhattan. Friday the body was taken to McElahhhan for interment. The funeral will be held Sunday forenoon at 10 o'clock from the M. E. church at youngdale. Rev. Miller will conduct the services and interment will be made in the Union Cemetery. on August 17, 1901.3
