Mrs. Brane was a member of the Seven Day Adventist church of Seymore, Ind. Survivors are her husband; two daughters, Shirley and Wanda Brane, at home; an infant daughter preceded her in death; her mother, Mrs. Clara Stockhover, Columbus; a sister, Mrs. Alton Shireman, Macy; a brother, Earl Landis, Columbus; two half-sisters, Mrs. Ralph Hornbeck; Mrs. Roy West, both of Columbus and a half-brother, Irwin Stockhover, Columbus. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Silver Creek church with Rev. C. B. Bunker, Indianapolis, in charge. Burial will be in the Silver Creek cemetery. Friends may call at the Sheetz Funeral Home until the hour of the services. (The surmane Brane was misspelled as Brone in the original obituary) on April 14, 1952.2

Born in 1935 in Greenfield, Mass., Shumway was the son of Allen Shumway and Marietta King. He attended Deerfield, High School, Class of 1952; Xavier University, Cincinnati, Ohio; University of Puget Sound, Tacoma, Wash., and Julliard School of Music. Shumway joined the U.S. Army in 1957 and served until 1959, assigned as a musician to Special Services. He trained with the U.S. Army Band at Fort Dix, N.J., and traveled with Army Entertainment Shows. Shumway's musical career had its beginnings when he was 10 years old, growing up on the Fuller Homestead in Deerfield, Mass., where his father was employed. In his teens Mrs. Mary Fuller gave him piano lessons. Another member of the Fuller family, Dick Arms, introduced him to the jazz style. At age 12, Shumway landed his first gig playing piano at the local Moose Club with his brother Allen's band. In the years that followed, he performed under the name Hal Vincent, gained experience in all aspects of music and entertainment, and recorded several albums which are available worldwide. Shumway joined the Baldwin Piano and Organ Co. in Cincinnati, Ohio, as a staff organist in 1967, and eventually became manager of the Home Organ Division. He was responsible for the voicing of every home organ built from 1967 to 1981. Mr. Shumway is survived by his wife, Anita Dorothy Shumway of Clearwater; two children from his former wife, Carole Ona McBride: Michelle Dibaise of Scottsdale, Ariz., and Alex Shumway of Seattle, Wash; five grandchildren: Samantha, Max, Rachel, Lucy and Mei Mei; his sister, Marcella Boyd of Newburyport, Mass., and brother, Allen Shumway of Wayne, Pa. Burial will take place Saturday, July 25, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Deerfield. on July 24, 2009.3

He worked for the Indiana Department of National Resources as a Ranger at Salamonie Reservoir, in soil conservation, worked for Farm Bureau, and was a basketball referee. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Plainfield. Bill was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, an avid golfer, an Indianapolis Colts and Indiana University fan. He enjoyed going to soccer games and swim meets. He is survived by his wife, Sally Howard of Wabash, four children, Lisa (Steve) Lengel of Urbana, Dennis (Julie) Howard of Lebanon, Stacy (Frank) Davis and Tracy (Chris) Cutshaw, both of Plainfield; his sister, Shirley (Bob) Ellis of Venice, Fla., 22 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 9, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave., Wabash, with the Rev. Melissa Rice officiating. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash. on December 7, 2013.2

She was also preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, George Hale. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash. Burial will be in Falls Cemetery, Wabash. on August 18, 2016.2

John was a 1939 graduate of Wabash High School and was a 1943 graduate and valedictorian of Indianapolis College of Pharmacy, now Butler University. He married Kathleen D. Pressler in Kokomo, Indiana on January 1, 1948. John was a Pharmacist's Mate 2nd class in the US Navy during WWII. He was a pharmacist and founded Daywalt Pharmacy in 1964 at 1048 Cass St. in Wabash, and moved the store in 1968 to its present location at 948 Cass St. He was a member of the Wabash Church of Christ and a former member and deacon of the Wabash Christian Church. John was a member and past president of the Wabash Area Chamber of Commerce, and was the Wabash Chamber Retailer of the Year in 1978. He was a member and past president of the Wabash City School Board, and a past member of the Wabash City Council. John was also a member of the Hanna Masonic Lodge #61, Fort Wayne Scottish Rite and Mizpah Shrine, the Wabash Shrine Club, and the American Legion Post 15. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen D. Daywalt of Wabash; two children, Diana (John) Odum of Loudon, Tennessee, Steven Todd (Susan) Daywalt of Wabash; seven grandchildren, Shelly (Scott) Powell of Asheville, North Carolina, Michael Odum of San Francisco, California, Kristi (Jeremy) Davis of Knoxville, Tennessee, Sarah (Chris) Grindle of Indianapolis, Indiana, Brian Daywalt of Fort Wayne, Indiana, Laura (Cory) Chapman of Temecula, California, Nathan Daywalt of Muncie, Indiana; great-granddaughter, Grace Powell of Asheville, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jimmie Daywalt, and his sister, Addie Daywalt. Funeral services will be held at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave. Wabash on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 at 10:30am with Guy Provance officiating. Burial will be in LaFontaine I.O.O.F. Cemetery, LaFontaine, Indiana. Friends may call 2-8pm Tuesday at the funeral home. Preferred memorials are to the Animal Shelter of Wabash County or Alzheimer's Association. on January 24, 2010.3
