Hawley; also surviving are his parents, Roger and Shirley Hawley; his grandmother, Thelma Holland; his father and mother-in-law, Waltie and Dorothy Shelburne; his grandmother-in-law, Pearl Layman; one sister; Angela Chaszar and her husband, Eric; two sisters-in-law, Melody Lovern, Debra Walker and her husband, Wayne; one brother-in-law, Walter Shelburne and his wife, Tammy; three nieces, Brittany, Abby and Morgan Chaszar; and several other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. Interment will follow in Mountain View Cemetery. on January 5, 2005.²

     William Jerry "Jericho" Carson Jr. was buried at Carson Family Cemetery, Bristol, Virginia.¹ He married Jill M. Rice, daughter of Gary Clifford Rice and Karen Brown.^2,1 William Jerry "Jericho" Carson Jr. was born on February 22, 1970.³ He died on February 1, 2004 at Virginia at age 33.¹ He BRISTOL, Va. – William Jerry "Jericho" Carson Jr., 33, died Feb. 1, 2004. He lived most of his life in the Bristol area and was the son of Ruth Christopher Carson and the late William Jerry Carson. He was a graduate of Virginia High School and had worked as a welder in Jacksonville, Fla. He was a loving father, son and brother and will be greatly missed. Jericho, as he was fondly known, is survived by, other than his mother, two sons, William Jeremy Carson and Justin Thomas Carson, both of Johnson City; two sisters, Laura Carson Howard of Bristol Virginia and R. Nadean Carson of Alexandria, Va.: two nephews, Blake Carson Howard and Austin Grant Howard, both of Bristol Virginia, and the mother of his children, Jill Rice Carson of Johnson City. The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 7, in El-Shaddai Baptist Church, 20263 Haskell Station Road, Bristol, VA 24202, with Pastor Ken Osborne officiating. Burial will follow in the Carson Family Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lance Rice, Troy Holmes, Charles Whitaker, Tim Eades, Steve Wright and Jay Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Simcox, Tim Carter and Ed Whitaker. The family will receive friends from 6 until 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 6, at Akard Funeral Home.
