Born on November 30, 1933 in Camp Creek, he was the son of the late Lake Theodore Jennings Sr. & Lena Belle Jennings. He was a longtime resident of Mercer County. After graduation from Spanishburg High School he served proudly in the United State Navy in the Korean War, learning the skills of Machinist and Tool maker. He applied those skills in the workplace advancing to Lead Machinist at NCR in Dayton, Ohio while at the same time starting and supporting J & S Trailer Sales, a partnership business with his sister Willie. In 1967, his entrepreneurial spirit and desire to be close to family brought him back to his native WV. One job was never enough, so in moving back to West Virginia, he purchased and operated Jennings Skating Rink in Princeton and started a new business in Jennings Mobile Home and RV parts. After many enjoyable years of meeting and connecting with young and old skaters alike, he sold the skating rink, moved the location and the Mobile Home and RV Parts business and started Jennings Construction Company. He semi-retired in 1995, selling the Mobile Home and RV business to his daughter, Rita and her husband Bruce, after purchasing a farm in Camp Creek where he grew up as a child. Never one to sit idle, he continued to stay busy in construction and on the farm until health issues prevented such activities. Ted was a man of many talents with extraordinary mechanical skills and business aptitude. He was fearless in his pursuit and performance of all business activities. His acute ability and desire to fix things were often sought by friends and family and he always welcomed the challenge in doing so. He was an active outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting and all things outdoors; He was very conscientious about the balance in nature and spent great deal of his time and energy devoted to preserving it for future generations.
