Baldwin, 84, of Roanoke, passed away on January 17, 2025. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E Baldwin Sr; parents, Damon and Elizabeth Dooley; brothers, Elwood Dooley, Donnie Dooley; Sister, Orbadella Dooley; son, James Jackson. She was owner, operator of Barbara’s Cleaning Service for 41 years and very proud of her work. She was willing to help anybody who was in need. She is survived by her children, Johnny Lee Jackson, Sandra Gray, Faye Janney; grandchildren, Tony Jackson, Gregory Jackson, Shawn Jackson, Shanea Tanner, Travis Jackson, Brandi Lindsey (Robert); great grandchildren, Kynsli, Rylan, Andrew, Zachary, Devin, Ryan. A special thanks to numerous care givers especially Ryan Breedlove, hospice nurse Nichole. Burial will be held at Mountain View Cemetery in Vinton.⁸ Her married name was Baldwin.¹ She married Thomas Emmett "Tommy" Baldwin Sr.^1,2,8 Barbara Ellen Dooley was born on March 30, 1940 at Botetourt Co., Virginia.^9,3,5 As of January 5, 1955,her married name was Jackson.⁵ She married John Delmas Jackson on January 5, 1955 at Chesterfield, Chesterfield Co., South Carolina.⁵ Barbara Ellen Dooley and John Delmas Jackson were divorced on June 27, 1963 at Roanoke, Virginia.⁵ As of July 13, 1963,her married name was Allgayer.⁴ Barbara Ellen Dooley married Herbert George Allgayer Jr. on July 13, 1963 at Vinton, Roanoke Co., Virginia.⁴ Barbara Ellen Dooley and Herbert George Allgayer Jr. were divorced on February 21, 1969 at Roanoke, Virginia.⁵ As of April 12, 1969,her married name was Motley.⁵ Barbara Ellen Dooley married Wayne Joseph Motley on April 12, 1969 at Alleghany Co., North Carolina.⁵ Barbara Ellen Dooley and Wayne Joseph Motley were divorced on August 12, 1971 at Roanoke, Virginia.⁵ Barbara Ellen Dooley died on January 17, 2025 at Virginia at age 84.⁸

     Thomas Emmett "Tommy" Baldwin Sr. was buried at Mountain View Cemetery, 1300 Mountain View Road, Vinton, Roanoke Co., Virginia.^2,4 His Social Security Number was 232-58-2778.⁵ He married Barbara Ellen Dooley, daughter of Damon Odell Dooley and Elizabeth Lucille Steber.^1,2,6 Thomas Emmett "Tommy" Baldwin Sr. was born on June 14, 1937.^5,2,7,4 He died on December 20, 2008 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 71.^5,2,3,7,4 He Thomas Emmett (Tommy) Baldwin Sr., 71, of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2008. He was born on June 14, 1937, to the late Walter Clyde Baldwin and Saluda Arrington Baldwin. Tommy was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and retired from the trucking business. He loved helping his wife in the cleaning business and doing a lot of fishing when he got the chance. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Dooley Baldwin; two sons, Thomas E. Baldwin Jr., of Stewartsville, and Robert Clyde (Melissa) Baldwin, of Catawba; stepchildren, Johnny Lee Jackson and wife, Rachel, of Craig County, Sandra Gray and Doug Chewning, of Roanoke, James Robert Jackson, of Franklin County, and Marian Faye Janney and husband, Ken; godson, Kevin Ray Meyers and Amy; nine grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; one greatgodson; special friends, Paul Bunker and Benny DeWeese; and not to forget all the "special fishing buddies." Burial to follow at Mountain View Cemetery. on December 23, 2008.²

     Elwood Damon "Woody" Dooley was buried at Mountain View Cemetery, 1300 Mountain View Road, Vinton, Roanoke Co., Virginia.² He was born on December 6, 1942 at Roanoke, Virginia.³ He married Emily Marie Jones on March 23, 1962 at Roanoke, Virginia.³ Elwood Damon "Woody" Dooley married Andrea Dene Sapp on August 4, 1977 at Roanoke, Virginia.³ Elwood Damon "Woody" Dooley died on October 27, 2016 at Virginia at age 73.² He Elwood Damon (Woody) Dooley, 73, of Roanoke, went Home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 27, 2016. He was preceded in death by his parents, Damon and Elizabeth Dooley; and a sister, Arbedella Dooley. Woody is survived by his beloved wife of 39 years, Andrea "Punkin;" his children, Elizabeth Ann Wilson (Dale), Melissa Ann Dooley (Shorty), Elwood Lynn Dooley, Rebecca Welch (Tommy), Ricky Fields and James "Cracker" Sapp; a brother, Donnie Dooley (Jean); a sister, Barbara Baldwin; brothers-in-law, Gary L. Sapp (Pinkie) and James A. Sapp Jr; sisters-in-law, Susan Creasy (Mike) and Clarice Robertson (Terry); and a special friend, Lynwood Craft. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. A Celebration of his Life will be held at noon on Monday, October 31, 2016, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel. Pastor Shannon Harris will officiate and interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, October 30, 2016, at Oakey's Vinton Chapel. on October 30, 2016.²

     Donald Odell Dooley Donald Odell “Donnie” Dooley, 72, of Roanoke, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 22, 2020, at Lewis Gale Medical Center in Salem. He was born on October 14, 1947, in Roanoke, Va. to the late Damon Odell and Elizabeth Steber Dooley. Donnie was no stranger to hard work and faithfully served the citizens in Roanoke City within the water and sewer department, for over 25 years prior to retiring. He was proud that he was able to be a part of the team that helped in the pipe laying project at Carvins Cove that supplies Roanoke and surrounding areas with drinking water. Donnie had a love for old cars, motorcycles, and boating, and could be found bowling at times, however, his passion in life was fishing. Especially his deep-sea fishing in the search for Marlin. Above all, he will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend to anyone that truly knew him. He will be missed! In addition to his parents, Donnie was preceded in death by his brother, Elwood Damon Dooley; and his sister, Arbadella Dooley. Family remaining to cherish his memory includes his wife of 54 years, Jean Dooley, of Salem; four sons, Richard Wayne “Ricky” Dooley (Sondra), Robert D. Dooley, both of Salem, Raymond Thomas Dooley, of Montgomery County, and Ronnie A. Dooley, of Roanoke; sister, Barbara Baldwin, of Roanoke; six grandchildren, Desi, Ricky Jr., Cody, Evan, Eli, and Rose; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services to honor Donnie’s life will be conducted on Wednesday, August 26, 2020, at 2 p.m. at John M. Oakey & Son funeral home in Salem, with Pastor Chris Kingery officiating. Interment will follow at Sherwood Memorial Park in Salem.² He was buried at Sherwood Burial Park, 1045 Lynchburg Turnpike, Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.² He was born on October 14, 1947 at Roanoke, Virginia.^2,3 He married Carolyn Jeanette "Jean" Clifton on August 5, 1966 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.⁴ Donald Odell Dooley died on August 22, 2020 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia, at age 72.²

     Carl Gray Hodges was buried at Church Hill Cemetery, Palmer & Crandall Streets, Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.^3,8 His Social Security Number was 229-18-0775.⁵ He was born on October 20, 1924 at Salem, Roanoke Co., Virginia.^2,3,8,5,6,7 He married Rachel Mae Doyle, daughter of Ollie Ruth Doyle, on June 25, 1960 at Shawsville, Montgomery Co., Virginia.¹ Carl Gray Hodges and Rachel Mae Doyle were divorced on March 11, 1986 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.² Carl Gray Hodges died on September 5, 1995 at Roanoke, Virginia, at age 70.^3,4,8,5,9 He Carl Gray Hodges, 70, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, September 5, 1995, in a Roanoke hospital. He was a World War II veteran. He is survived by his wife, Rose Hodges; four children, Donald Hodges, Florida, Michael Hodges, Roanoke, Judy Melwrath, Pennsylvania, Tracy Pinto, Ferrum; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Frank and Gaynor Hodges, Calvin and Garnet Hodges; two sisters and brother-in-law, Frances Cecil, Jane and Melvin Campbell; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two stepsons, John Glovier, Tim Glovier. Interment will be in Church Hill Cemetery. on September 7, 1995.⁴
