     Robert Lindsay Thomas Robert Lindsay Thomas, 59, of Vinton, died in Citrus Springs, Florida on Sunday, March 31, 2013. He was born on Sept. 21, 1953 to parents, Ruth Gray Thomas and Jack Thomas. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Thomas, paternal grandparents, Lyda Spurlock Thomas and Walter Thomas; maternal grandparents, Mary Newman Gray and Mose Gray; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Survivors are his mother, Ruth Gray Thomas; sister, Vickie Thomas Bowen and husband, Ken; daughters, Jacklyn Thomas of Vinton, Tristina Wooden of Roanoke, Desiree’ Thomas Fiorillo, of NJ and Mindy Thomas Odai and husband, Mike of CA; niece and husband, Mary Beth and Dr. Jeffrey Goode of Huddleston; nephews, Byron Penick and Beckett Goode; special friends, Tommy Stephenson, Gary Lester, Kelly Thierry, Rob and Susan Lipes, George Paddee, of Texas. Bob graduated from Christchurch School, VA, Selwyn Academy, Denton, Texas and attended North Texas University, Texas. Everyone who met Bob knew of his passion and undying love for God and his daughter, Jacklyn.² He was born on September 21, 1953 at Roanoke Co., Virginia.^1,2,3 He married Sherry Leigh Elmore, daughter of Leonard Lewis "Bud" Elmore and Frances Elizabeth Poff, on September 21, 1974 at Vinton, Roanoke Co., Virginia.¹ Robert Lindsay Thomas and Sherry Leigh Elmore were divorced on August 1, 1984 at Denton Co., Texas.⁴ Robert Lindsay Thomas died on March 31, 2013 at Citrus Springs, Citrus Co., Florida, at age 59.²

Light, 71, of Roanoke, Va., passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 3, 2010, with his wife by his side. He was preceded in death by his mother, Daisy Richardson Light; and three sisters. Mr. Light retired after 32 years of service with Yokohama Tire (formerly Mohawk Tire). He was a member of Community Advent Christian Church and served on the Board of Directors of the Southview Homeowners Association. Surviving are his wife, Sarah A. Light; daughter, Lois A. Peery and husband, Jay, of Roanoke; son, Steve L. Light and wife, Dana, of Roanoke; stepchildren, Deborah L. Pigford and husband, Randy, of Terry, Miss., Donald Deal, of Washington, D.C., Ronald Deal, and Laci Lou Stevens, both of Roanoke; grandchildren, Jennifer and Paul Craighead, Margaret and Jacob Light, Adam, Randi, and Alexandra; greatgranddaughter, Ariana; brother, P.J. Light and wife, Berniece, of Forest Hill, W.Va; sister, Irene Waldron, of Roanoke; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2010, at Simpson Funeral Home, 5160 Peters Creek Road by the Rev. T.G. Ayers. Interment will follow in Old Dominion Memorial Gardens.      Phillip Jasper Light was buried at New Hope Cemetery, Summers Co., West Virginia.⁴ He was born on January 25, 1937 at Marie, Summers Co., West Virginia.⁴ He married Betty Bernice Clowers on October 30, 1958 at Peterstown, Monroe Co., West Virginia.^3,9,4,10 Phillip Jasper Light died on January 24, 2017 at Marie, Summers Co., West Virginia, at age 79.⁴ He Phillip Jasper "P.J." Light, 79, of Marie, joined his wife in eternal rest Tuesday, January 24, 2017 at his home following a long illness. Born January 25, 1937 at Marie, he was a son of the late David Cicero Light and Daisy Richardson Light Marsh. Phillip was a retired school bus driver for the Summers County Board of Education and had worked as a security officer for Summers County Hospital. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran who retired as a Chief Petty Officer. He enjoyed ginseng hunting, fishing, farming, sawmilling and loved making people smile. P.J. was the last surviving member of his immediate family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Bernice Clowers Light; one grandson, Adam Dale Light and five siblings, Loraine Crutchfield, Ada Ann Maddy and Irene Waldron, Maurice Light and Phyllis Neal. Those left to cherish his memory include two sons, David Dale Light and wife Lita of Marie and Phillip Leon Light and wife Carolyn of Shady Spring; four grandchildren, Ryan James Light and fiancé Tamara Bragg of Pipestem, Seth Thomas Light of Shady Spring, Sara Christine Light of Fort Worth, TX and Samuel Jay Light and wife Bethany of Elkview and one great granddaughter, Jasmine Noelle Light. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Burial will follow in the New Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery at Marie. Pallbearers will be Steve Light, Billy Brian Mitchell, Jason Persinger, Josh and Zach Maddy and Dennis Garrison III. Honorary Pallbearer will be his lifelong friend, Bill "Mitch" Mitchell. on January 26, 2017.⁴

Born July 20, 1941, at Bozoo, she was daughter of the late Hobert M. and Ola A. McClaugherty Clowers. Betty was an active member of the Forest Hill United Methodist Church serving as secretary and singing in the Church choir. She was a homemaker and enjoyed sewing, bird watching, flower gardening and spending time with her family and friends. Preceded in death by one grandson, Adam D. Light; two brothers, George Edward Clowers and Hobert R. Clowers; one sister, Marietta Clowers Gunnoe. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Phillip “P.J.” Light at home; two sons, David D. Light and wife Lita C. of Forest Hill and Phillip L. Light and wife Carolyn D. of Shady Spring; four grandchildren, Ryan J., Seth T., Sara C. and Samuel J. Light; a brother, Virgil R. Clowers of Hilldale and numerous nieces and nephews. Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery at Marie. on January 4, 2012.²

Howard was born in South Hill, Va., graduated from Virginia Tech., was a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force in WWII, and retired as a salesman from Sears. He served on the board of trustees and was an active member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church. He was a devoted, loving husband and father. Howard was preceded in death by his parents, William Oscar and Annie Mae Crutchfield; and first wife, Lorene Light. Surviving are his second wife, Norma Sturzenbecher; his sister, Frances Grieco of Roanoke, Va; his two daughters by his first marriage, Linda Martin, her husband, Rob of Greenville, S.C., and Rebecca Crow, her husband, Chuck, and their son, Jonathan of Richmond, Va. All who knew him were endeared by his kind spirit. on November 5, 2006.⁶

She was born Feb, 2, 1933, in Marie, W.Va., to David Cicero and Daisie Richardson Light. The homemaker was a member of the First Baptist Church and a graduate of Forest Hill High School in West Virginia. Survivors include her husband, Dale S. Neel, whom she married Dec. 2, 1949 (actually 1950); a daughter, Charlotte Diana Mastin of Connersville; two brothers, Mauriece Light of Roanoke, Va., and Phillip Light of Forest Hill, W.Va; two sisters, Irene Waldron of Roanoke, Va., and Ann Maddy of Hinton, W.Va; a grandson; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Lorene Crutchfield. Burial will be at Valley Grove Cemetery. on May 5, 1997.³

     Dale Sidney Neel was buried at Valley Grove Cemetery, 6982 S. State Road 1, Richmond, Wayne Co., Indiana.^7,6 He Dale Sidney Neel, 92, of Connersville went to be with the Lord, Friday, September 13, 2019, at St. Vincent Hospice, Indianapolis, Indiana. He was born in Wolf Pen, West Virginia on October 31, 1926, to Bertle H. and Lelia Bell Folden Neel. Dale was married for 47 years to his late wife Phyllis Light and they were married in Tolcott, West Virginia. In 1951, they moved to Connersville where Dale went to work at Ford Electronics & Refrigeration which later became Visteon, retiring in 1988 after 35 years of service. Dale was a member of Connersville Baptist Temple and he enjoyed listening to Gospel and Country music. In his earlier years, he loved hunting and fishing and was a member of the National Rifle Association. After he turned 80, Dale enjoyed canoeing. Survivors include a daughter, Charlotte Mastin, of Connersville; a grandson, Scott D. (Tabatha V.) Eshelman, of Loveland, Colorado; a sister, Louise Keasling, of Connersville; several nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife, Phyllis Neel, Dale is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Wayman, Winters, Eugene “Pete”, and Charles Neel; three sisters, Marjorie Lawrence, Lucille Lanning, and Jewell Russell.      Adam Dale Light was born on December 21, 1984 at Hinton, Summers Co., West Virginia.¹ He died on May 17, 2007 at Beckley, Raleigh Co., West Virginia, at age 22.¹ He FOREST HILL — Adam Dale Light, 21, of Forest Hill, died Thursday morning, May 17, 2007, in Beckley. Born Dec. 21, 1984, at Hinton, he was a son of David Dale and Lita Cheryl Neely Light of Forest Hill and brother of Ryan James Light of Beckley. He was a 2003 graduate of Summers County High School, an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman and a volunteer firefighter for the Forest Hill Volunteer Fire Department. Besides his parents, he is survived by a daughter, Robin Marie Light; a son, Shawn Dale Light of Beckley; Jacob Miller, a child whom he reared as his own son, of Beckley; maternal grandparents, James Mason and Ellen Carol Tickle Neely of True; maternal great-grandmother, Dora Dale Neely of Pipestem; paternal grandparents, Phillip J. and Betty Bernice Clowers Light of Forest Hill; and two uncles, Phillip L. Light and wife, Carolyn, of Beaver and their children, Seth, Sara and Samuel Light, and James R. Neely and wife, Diana, of Aurora, Colo., and their children, Alexis, Elaina and Mason Neely. Memorial service will be 7:30 p.m. Monday, May 28, at Ronald Meadows Funeral Parlors Chapel, Hinton, with Pastor Jeff Canterbury and Phillip L. Light, uncle, officiating.
