Born January 17, 1931 at Glen Jean, WV, he was the son of the late John"Buzz" and Grace Light Byset. Bill retired as a administrator with the US Government and attended Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Oak Hill. He served his country with the US Army in the Korean War and also served with the Peace Corps in Ecuador. His service with his country permitted him to travel the world. Surviving are his two nieces, Mary Byset Menefee and her husband Michael of Manassas, VA and Ginny Byset Napier and husband Dennis of Yorktown, VA. Also surviving are his cousin Joan Walker of Fayetteville, WV and two second cousins, Daniel and Michael Donnelly. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, October 28, 2011 at the Tyree Funeral Home Chapel, Oak Hill with Father Paul Yuenger officiating. Burial will follow in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to services on Friday, October 28, 2011. Michael Donnelly, Daniel Donnelly and Danny Donnelly, Jr. will serve as pallbearers.2 He was born on January 17, 1931 at Glen Jean, Fayette Co., West Virginia.2 He died on October 24, 2011 at Charleston, Kanawha Co., West Virginia, at age 80.2

Survivors: His widow, Mrs. Pearl Holcomb; two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Altizer and Miss Joan Holcomb, both at home; six brothers, Bert of Lansing, and Richard, Cleve, Stanley, Earn, and George Holcomb, all of Lookout; four sisters, Mrs. Hattle Gill of Lookout, Mrs. Paul Chambers of Huntington, Mrs. Mildred Bobblt of Beckley, and Mrs. Harry Jarrett of Charleston; and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in the Community church here Monday at 2 p. m. with the Rev. Wibur R. Turner officiating. Burial will be in Hlghlawn Memorial park at Oak Hill under direction of Collins mortuary of Glen Jean. on February 8, 1953.3

Mrs. Altizer, 37, was pronounced dead on arrival at Oak Hill Hospital where she was employed as a nurse. The accident occurred about 7:30 p.m. She is survived by: son, Douglas C. at home; daughter, Mildred Ann at home; mother, Mrs. Pearl E. Holcomb at home; sister, Mrs. Joan Donnelly at home. Service will be 2 p.m. Wedesday in Glen Jean Union Church. Burial will be in High Lawn Memorial Park, Oak Hill. on March 15, 1966.5
